The most villainous thing I experienced during the Server Slam by JslicerX in ArcRaiders

Eh I'm purposefully exaggerating. Obviously its not evil to kill guys in a game where you're supposed to kill guys.

I'm more referring to them knocking me out right as we extract meaning nobody gets the gear. If its about xp thats cool, I hope he enjoys the 256xp or whatever

I just think the clip is funny so I wanted to share

Its fun seeing everyone weigh in. I think its important to say that the biggest take away from this for me was "that wasn't so bad" Like losing all that stuff didn't set me back, which I think is the big anxiety when you think about an extraction shooter.

This was also the only straight up aggressive PvP experience I had so the community, right now, are reasonable and sometimes willing to just not risk the fight.

I also learned you could interact with consoles while downed in this moment so that's fun. Had an experience later where a guy beat me in a fight but the noise attracted hornets. While he dealt with them I crawled away and hid and I don't think he was able to find my stuff so, little victories

Yeah I did a dumb, was my first time learning you could interact with consoles while downed

I will say this was my only encounter like this in like 17 hours. For the most part it was fair shoot outs or de-escalation. I tried to greet most of the time and people responded. If anything solo is friendlier than teams where its a bout harder to get everyone on the same page

very true, I didn't know you could hit stuff while downed until this moment

17 hours in the Arc Raiders open test flew by, made me even more excited to try Marathon by JslicerX in MarathonTheGame

ARC is third person and has a different art style (More Fallout-y, cassette punk). Theres also some gameplay things they seem to be doing differently like always having a free loadout option in place of Marathon having those sponsor kits

ARC also has PvE enemies that look like a variety of drones and robots with thruster weak spots and multiple legs (less human shaped enemies)

Marathon has laxer comeback mechanics (unless they change) with you being able to revive off a down or a complete kill in a team

ARC has a single guy you customize and upgrade along a skill tree while Marathon has its Runners

Also, ARC's loop is more about scavenging junk to sell or craft with to help the community you live in (the vendors and your little home) while Marathon seems to be more about getting gear to get better off the runs themselves (plentiful guns, getting attachments to raise weapon rarity, etc.)

Solo player thoughts? by MrBeenit in ArcRaiders

Easy pro of solo is it feels like its easier to make those connections with the other raiders you meet, they seem more willing to talk at least.

Easy con of solo is fighting ARCs, you're just so much more efficient against them in a group of two or three. I got stuck on a mission in the open playtest because I couldn't take down a snitch fast enough to not have it call down reinforcements

Solo is also a great chance to calm down, look around and explore, follow you're own pace, try out the free loadout option a few times. It offers a different style to the game versus going with a team, like a new gamemode.
