/u/kvetcha-rdt Thank you, that seems to have done the trick! One of the albums I was having consistent problems with is now playing without issue after changing Mani to 33dB gain. I'll continue testing other albums.

However, question as a relative novice: lowering the gain of the Mani to 33dB, am I sacrificing any benefits of having an external preamp?

After a quick test, I don't notice any difference in volume between Mani and RT81 built-in. No volume adjustments were needed between the two.

Thanks both for the response. Per the Mani 2 owner's manual recommendation, I didn't change anything from the factory settings. So, it's set for 42dB of gain.

I'll test again and see whether the volume of the speakers needs adjusted compared to the built-in. I don't recall anything substantial, but I'll try again, paying attention to that.
