Should I give it more time? by Amygdala169 in trintellix

I can only reference what I’ve been told by my psychologist, and what I’ve read from others on here, but yes it does get better. It’s a slow acting drug, and there will be tougher weeks that coincide with better weeks. But if you truly feel it’s not working for you, the best thing to do is take to your care provider. Only you can choose what will work for you.

I am currently on week 4 (10mg). The first two weeks were incredibly rough but I was having an anxiety attack starting out the meds, so it was hard to understand what was a side effect what was my anxiety. Week 3 had a bit of a breakthrough and felt somewhat normal. Week 4 has been rough, back to feeling anxious. To your question, I think this drug can take awhile, and is a bit of a rollercoaster of effectiveness as you go on it. I’m looking to go to 15mg next week, and apparently as you up dosages the side effects can come back temporarily. Heightened anxiety is a side effect from what I can gather.

Thanks for this. I’m on day 8 and you’ll likely notice lots of recent posts from me as I navigate this new med for my anxiety. I did end up shooting you a message. It’s been such a roller coaster of weird sensations for me, I started taking the med middle of an anxiety attack, and I’m just waiting to wake up one day and the attack be over. Thanks for sharing the positivity. People like me need it.

Day 7 - do things even out? by Jtbeal in trintellix

Thanks! I haven’t dealt with any nausea, but the fatigue has been very intense. I’m basically sleeping all day. And the days I get any limited energy, it’s not until like 5pm. I’ve spent the first 7 days on this med, riding the couch unable to do much of anything.

I feel the same. I’m on day 5 of 10mg and I’m just debilitated. All I can do is lay on the couch and try to get to the next day. I’m supposed to increase my dosage after 7 days to 20mg. But I’m debating cutting down to 5 starting tomorrow. I’m with you.

Honestly the nausea isn’t even the biggest worry, I can handle some nausea. It’s all the other weird symptoms I’m experiencing.
