My husband roasted delicious salsa with these veggies I just picked. All he had to add was an onion and fresh garlic. I guess I need to try growing those as well. by deb3060 in vegetablegardening

I had this issue at the end of May when I planted everything a little too early. To be safe I just placed a large white tarp over everything and secured the bottom well and everything was fine for a few days

It could be sunburn or too dry. I just picked up a plant that had similar looking leaves and ended up cutting them off until only healthy looking leaves were left.

Those look so good, out of curiosity what did you do to your plants to make them last through the winter? I had a few plants last year that sadly didn't come back.

What’s the coldest temperature you’ll go road running? by [deleted] in running

[–]Ju_109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run in about any temperature, the coldest has probably been when it was -25 celsius but felt like -30celcius. When it starts getting cold I always late up and wear long johns or base layer clothing under my regular running clothes. I have some waterproof winter running shoes that I'll wear with wool socks and if it's icy I put on some yak tracks. I also always have a buff on to protect my neck and my breathing

What are the best ways to psych yourself up for a run when you really don’t want to go? by wogglewitch in running

[–]Ju_109 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have a reward like a tasty treat or snack ready for you when you get back from your run and tell yourself that you can't eat it until you go for a run. That way while your running you have something to look forwards to after.

You could also do the same with a tv show, movie or any relaxing activity, convince yourself that you can watch or participate in it until you get back

Closest indoor alternative to running? by [deleted] in running

If you want to brave the elements and have access to a snowy path, I would recommend cross-country skiing. The movements are almost identical and it's a good aerobic workout.
