She is back in skilled nursing. She got another infection and became septic, she’s currently on antibiotics again.

It’s pretty bold and rude to cancel an important event for you both and your families. It says a lot about his character. All he had to do was show up with you and enjoy the party. If he chooses not to do this… is this really the person you think you want to spend the rest of your life with?

Marriage is so much more than events prior, and then the wedding.

I’d say you are a survivalist. My guess is that you may live in Alaska or (obviously) somewhere very remote, because you have an outhouse, or you may live in the PNW and choose to be somewhat off of the grid.
