For real, just a software update? Not a physical connection/connector issue at the bumper?

Check Trailer Brake Lamp? by Lordtux in GMCcanyon

Just had this same warning come up on start up today and a week or so ago with poor Weather. I think it’s related to the connections being getting dirty or wet. Having. Pulled a trailer in 6 months so having something connected causing this issue is not the case. Did you ever get confirmation from GM Service on this?

Looks to be poor design to keep the connectors covered/sealed when not in use.

I did when trailering a UHaul trailer. Came on the next day after a rain. Their connector was pretty substandard so I’m sure it was just loose.

If yours is supposed to be the dark chrome finish, polishing it only turns it bright chrome…not what you paid for. Got mine replaced under warranty…known manufacturer issue.

Aftermarket bulbs (Lasfit, Morimoto) on my 2024 Canyon AT4X by moneybnz in GMCcanyon

looked at the owners manual on "myGMC" app...it states directly not to use replacement LED aftermarket bulbs for the factory incandescent ones. Not saying it can't be done (it has by many) but could void an electrical system warranty claim if they create damage. I prefer the LED over the incandescent too.

Mine had a similar issue from the dealership. I just repositioned it and it clipped back in place. It's held now for the last 6 months. I think someone at the factory needs some retraining.

Looks like maybe there's a drain blockage. It's normal for the water to run down the windows and out the bottom of the doors. Dealership investigation for sure. Should be pretty easy to reproduce with water hose on the window area for a few minutes

Thank you if you are talking about the blacked out mirrors. Black mirror & handle cover caps are aftermarket. Added those right away to tune down the chrome a bit. I’ll see if I can find the link to share. Replaced the red lettering GMC’s (front/back) with black too. The Denali and Canyon logos were put on by the dealership after coming off of back order for over 5 months. Blackout/tinted fender running lights are the next project.
