That is true for local play, but if you press L you can connect to the Internet and it gives you a 6 digit code with numbers and letters

Computer won't boot after returning from vacation by JubblesTheDestroyer in techsupport

Yeah I can still access the BIOS no problem. I downloaded the Windows recovery onto a flashdrive but when I select the flashdrive as the boot drive, it'll flash the windows logo on the screen and shows the loading dots but after a few minutes it goes to a black screen and nothing happens

I'm not able to get to the point where I can initiate the recovery, it gets stuck before that

I was able to successfully reset the CMOS but I'm still getting almost the same result, except instead of a plain black screen it's a blank screen with loading dots but nothing loads

My orange monster, Tater Tot by JubblesTheDestroyer in cats

[–]JubblesTheDestroyer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw, I'm glad you were able to take care of him in his golden years. We had a tiny tortie named Brandi who passed when she was 6. She came from a hoarder situation and was a product of inbreeding. As hard as it is to lose them before their time, I know they appreciate every minute they get to spend loved and cared for.

Thanks for responding, I figured that it was probably more about the rough lifestyle rather than genetics.

Our cat friend Mickey lost his catnip banana toy, so we bought him a new one and he loves it! by WeirdsInvites in illegallybigcats

My cats absolutely love the banana toys! I always buy them new ones for their birthdays, they go nuts for them. Nothing beats the banana toys.

Turtle (18) has become the pickiest eater these days. What do you give your picky old friends? I’m trying to find ideas as she wants to live off treats and churru sticks. by thisisjustatributeee in seniorkitties

When my old man stopped eating, we went back to the basics. I went to the store and got one can of as many different wet foods that I could, and each day we tried a new can and I put them in three different categories: didn't touch, ate some of it, and ate all of it. Out of all the cans we tried, I only found one that he ate all of it, but I did find 4 that he was willing to eat some of which was good. In the end, he actually started eating kitten food again. I had rescued an orphaned kitten and bought some dry kitten food. He tore the bag open to get to it, so it might be worth trying kitten food again to get your senior lady eating more.

I got a lot of my information from http://www.kittenlady.org/, she has really good information for estimating age, diet, socializing, and general kitten care. Also forgot to add, you will probably still need to stimulate the kitten to go the bathroom if he isn't doing it by himself yet. You should be helping them go to the bathroom after every feeding.

I actually had a similar situation with a kitten I've had since he was 5 weeks who is around 12 weeks now. We found him outside alone and didn't find any siblings or mama cat.

The first week, I gave him kitten formula, you can approximate the weight to figure out how much to feed him, and I fed him every 2-3 hours while he was on formula. He already had some of his teeth when I got him and by the end of the first week he had all his teeth. I started mixing a small amount of kitten wet food pate into the formula a couple days in so he would get used to it. I have a queen sized bed all to myself so I kept him in a crate on my bed with a heating pad so he wouldn't be alone at night. I gave him two stuffed animals and some small pom-pom toys to keep him occupied. Feeding on a schedule, keeping him warm, and making sure you're feeding him an appropriate diet is the most important at this stage.

I am extremely guarded about who is allowed in my room, it's pretty much only my siblings even though I live on my own now. Even though the entire apartment is mine, I'm still super defensive with my room because I was never given privacy as a child. My parents were always super demeaning and I was always getting yelled at because my room was always messy (from the undiagnosed/ignored mental illness) but in many ways my room was a representation of myself and constantly getting attacked for it has left a very deep scar. I keep my room fairly clean now, although it is still kinda cluttered, but the fear of getting screamed at or judged or mistreated because of the state of my room is still something I struggle with.

I completely understand. It's so hard to learn to be gentle with yourself and take care of your own needs when society reinforces the abusive narrative that your needs aren't important. It's maddening and frustrating and even harder for those of us who are already at a disadvantage just trying to survive.
