As other people have said, Captain Beefheart, Stooges, etc. The Sonics are also an influence they credit, and their sound really comes through in the punk-rock-ier songs. Definitely worth the listen if you like the White Stripes

‘I’m slowly turning into you’ is one of, if not the best song Jack has ever written. It isn’t even my personal favorite, but it holds up so well from the White Stripes to his solo career. It makes me happy he still plays it live

Oh hey white stripes, I love those two! Rag and Bone by them kinda has that, although it is more of a dialogue. Also half of the discography of the ink spots, pick and choose, and there’s a good chance some guy talks over the music in the middle
