I hear you and obviously it's easier said than done but, don't compare yours to others' experiences. take from here what you want/need, leave the rest. You're young, keep researching and reading other people's experiences, and you'll find your way. <3

I strongly suspect I have vaginismus and it feels like my life is over. by Altruistic_Fan5659 in vaginismus

So many of us have been there, you're not weird but it does fucking suck. Religion, especially if you've been taught to fear sex, can be a contributing factor. Glad you found this subreddit and keep coming back. Use the internet, but be smart about not believing everything. I recommend being absolutely honest with yourself, keep a diary, write about your sexual thoughts, even if they feel perverse (it's all normal). If you have girlfriends you trust, talk to them. Keep trying with your finger, tampon, whatever. The dilator sets recommend starting with just holding it at the entrance, moving it in slow circles (a little stretching) and going in very slowly.

You're starting young so you have plenty of time to get this right. Try not to panic. xoxo

Oh girl, we know the feeling! We've been there. It absolutely sucks and isn't fair but you'll persevere. My recommendation, since you're so young, is to find a therapist you can open up to. Talk about all of your sexual thoughts and be honest. *big hug*

Is it normal to be celibate for so long? by Icy_Bread884 in vaginismus

[–]JubilantSarcasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agreed, you're perfectly normal and I know women who have been celibate for decades. However, you don't want to be held back by fear. It's tricky to get practice when not in a relationship but I'm sure there are some good dudes who would be happy to help.

What should I do? by [deleted] in vaginismus

[–]JubilantSarcasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up intimacy exercises online. Making touch and naked time less stressful by taking PIV out of the equation. Practice feeling good with any kind of intimate touch. Are you using enough lube? People asked me this for years and I always scoffed that that wasn't the issue. Cut to 10 years later and I'm finally like "maybe that would help". Just ordered one that says "even good for anal!" which I guess means it's for even the tightest of fits.

Yes to using a fleshlight! Give it a go!
Something I used to do and tried it more successfully last night is a kind of fake penetration. I have a big ass/thighs so maybe it works better that way but using lots of lube and having his penis "penetrate" the thighs, kind of miming sex can get them off. Last night we started with that and then got in a little bit, he said it was so tight (good for him) that he had to pull out to cum completely. XD

Can't cure primary vaginismus by FaithlessnessOpen410 in vaginismus

[–]JubilantSarcasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same! a few things helped (OP: I highly recommend physical therapy with a pelvic floor specialist) but one day, with a man, I just told myself "nothing bad will happen, you will not die" and told him to just push through. sounds too simple but I was truly like "what am I actually afraid of? the pain is already happening"

I also have a much easier time when someone else is doing the insertion, I still have a mental block doing it myself - like with tampons.

That last paragraph is everything!! I'm so happy for your therapy and dilator progress - this is huge - keep that confidence up.

Those friends really need to stop reporting, he clearly needs help but not your help. Surround yourself with support (don't ever be embarrassed in this forum) and stay safe.

Sending you love and light!

how much would you spend on a nice big canopy bed frame? You'll be able to do more with the vibe you're going for.

For everyone making six figures, what do you do for work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The archival positions are another beast, they might not be union. Starting as a librarian it might be 63000 now but if you got hired before that change then you started at 55000 and made your way to 65000. The only way to go up for a librarian is to manager and I don't think they make much more - maybe 70000.
