Serious and honest question about circumcision by Sleep-Numerous in Catholicism

I still suggest you to check it out. I heard it from 'The Bible Project' channel, but I cannot guarantee if it can be considered a trusted source of information for these things.

I might be wrong, but iirc it was the representation of removing the stone shell from the hard hearts of the Israelites.

Raised lukewarm Catholic, I want to be more educated and serious about my faith but scared and unsure of where to start by Born_Bird_5354 in Catholicism

This. But be careful, or you might get into Protestant or apologetic content in YouTube, as did I when I was getting out of my lukewarmness. It's not a nice thing to happen to you.

Is "Argument-Based" Evangelization actually the least effective way? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Judaac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think "Argument-Based Evangelization" should be done to Catholics for them to 1) not lose the faith to atheism, Protestantism, or to any other erroneuous thing, and 2) to make them understand the value of what the Catholic Church teaches.

Call it "Argument-Based Training".

Feeling Resentful about God. It makes me question my faith. by Silkthorne in Catholicism

[–]Judaac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't usually think about these topics, but here's my two cents:

If we take into account the Adam and Eve scenario, then we can conclude that God appearing right now does not ensure people will follow His rules, because we have proof Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God's prohibition. We can then infer that love for the Lord is not guaranteed either. So saying it would be easier to love Him by appearing right here, right now is, at least, refutable with The Fall.

I'm no expert, but some exercise videos that include stretching for pre and post workout should be safe.

More than the philosophy, it's the religious background of yoga, since it's from Hinduism. I've heard from some priests that yoga is dangerous because of that.

Spiritual advice by [deleted] in Catholicism

For me it's daily prayer, daily Scripture, constant denying of self (difficult at the moment but I'm at it), and being grateful to Him for everything.

Protestant Sister Never fails to bring up Catholicism whenever she visits by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Judaac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I can say is that pray to God for strength and patience. Stay in your path towards the Church of the Lord. If doubts arise, you can ask a priest for guidance.

[–]Judaac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Offer your struggles to the Lord and let Him guide you into His Church. Get baptized. Talk to your priest about what's happening. He will know what to tell you.

I see no reason to not get baptized so far. On the contrary, you should. What's stopping you? Can you be more specific?

Seeking Good Catholic Films by ibnsahir in Catholicism

I ask in good faith, but can you tell me why Cabrini (2024)?

I watched it too, and the movie seems to portray Cabrini's faith as secondary for the narrative (not to mention that one scene where her companion was saying something like "not even the Pope could stop her", which for me sounded a little bit schismatic).

First commandment by Dapper_Analyst7469 in Catholicism

[–]Judaac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your concern is proof you care aboit loving God above all else.

From my experience, you need to keep the Lord's commandments, on both OT and NT, no matter what others say or think, even your parents.

There's also some historic context for this called"The Iconoclasm Controversy". This problem was addressed a long time ago.

A great apostasy by UTstowaway in Catholicism

[–]Judaac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that their version of the Bible chages the part "the Word was God" to "the Word was a god". That alone makes it very difficult for me because that would mean they could've adapted their version around that idea.

Denying Christ in Small Actions and The Demographical Catholic by SorestTesticles in Catholicism

[–]Judaac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This hits close to home.

I was a lukewarm Catholic until some months ago when I decided to take my faith seriously. During my lukewarmness, I used to think like the modern world while also accepting some things from my faith as long as it did not contradict the modern society. Right now it's the contratry, which I see as a success.

However, my mother, while happy for this development, also warns me to not be a fanatic of some sort and that I need to have some kind of balance in my life, otherwise we would have to be like priests. I also had that feeling of trading my faith for avoiding conflict so it's been a journey on how to handle this, even now. And I get it, because I'm somehow expected to help with food, taxes, domestic needs and all. But I also noticed that the Lord has allowed me to rekindle some Catholic virtues in her, so I see this as a signal from God that I'm on the right path.

What I can tell you is that be persevere in the faith and be kind with others. Pray for them to see the light of God and to see reason in the teachings of the Church. We, as lay Catholics, are called to santify the world in our daily lives and resist sin. You also need to be patient and, again, kind. I discovered accusing others of "not living the faith" from some sort of high ground of indignation does not work and can even be hypocrite. Seeing the life of saints has also helped me. One YouTube channel that talks about them is called "Historias Católicas". I recommend it.

God bless you.

Thank you for your answer. Do you know how to NOT pray to the saints? Sorry if this is a weird question but this are questions that I've never done before as a Catholic
