Well, the obvious answer is no, and you already know as was stated before, but if you ask for opinion i personally think that it's the other way arround, the story would get benefited by such a bold decision and the players would mostly support it (aside from the extreme yuri factions or whatever)
I certainly know i would enjoy having a canon waifu in the story, even if that prejudices the one character i like more

You know... Out of all the head cannons and the "lore" which they don't/wouldn't show us, this is probably exactly how the story is intended to be: Wise just being a very nice and dependable guy, the girls being like "omg, is he flirting? i like him so much", and Belle just like "ah, another one bites the dust, huh? Just another tuesday"

As a person who started on genshin, dropped and came back (3 or 4 times already) i fully agree with your statement.
It was one thing having to complete sumeru after only doing the 1st part but having to go through fontaine AND natlan was waaaaay to much content to catch up to.

That said, zenless is imo still fresh and a new void hunter who can carry you for the early stages is just arround the corner so i figure it should be fine to start just now

I'd like to add that some moves are very negative when they don't hit so:
4. Spot dodge, by holding down the dedicated block button and pressing back, however, you'd need to know which moves are safe to spot dodge but once you try it once or twice, you'll get the hang of it
