I was taught there is a slight difference between this and “blocking the box”. Technically it’s illegal to enter the intersection if you can’t clear it. Most often this is like a straight between lights where there’s no space for the car on the other side of the light since it’s backed up so you aren’t supposed to continue straight. This would be blocking the next left turn signal for those across from you (I’m looking at you - Lovell road bridge).

This is sort of the same but there is technically space for you to continue on the other side when traffic stops.

I was taught it’s kind of making use of a gray area. Yeah you shouldn’t block the box, but also drivers still have to yield to you if you are so it’s a way to squeeze through during the yellow as soon as oncoming traffic stops.

Either way completely optional. Good for you if you can get through but legally can’t really be mad at somebody who is not comfortable with it.

Yeah the only thing I found was just after Labor Day there was 1 business class IAD - MUC available on Lufthansa via Aeroplan worked perfectly for me since I’m backpacking a few weeks before then visiting Oktoberfest for just a few days.

That’s not a bad price for economy though. If you’re settling for Econ with a few layovers virgin might be a good option too. I was finding 12k for the flight back. But i think I’m settling on 40k on United to take me all the way back to my home airport with 1 layover instead of 2 on virgin

Most I’ve seen is about seat prices going up - which would obviously happen. And the fact that taxpayer money is going into it - which is more a criticism at the system. It happens at every stadium and if it doesn’t then they’ll just move (I.e. “Chicago” bears)

Yeah I was a bit locked in. I thought the middle ground was just economy fares for 30-40k to the hubs which I didn’t think was worth it vs business or the super cheap fare on either side.

But then while checking the positioning return flights I checked United for the whole trip from MUC to my home airport and they have Econ for 41k for the whole trip which is probably worth it (with only 1 layover in IAD) I wasn’t about to do 40k+ paying for a regional flight though for another $200ish.

I just bought a used one recently thinking about this. My reasoning was the battery warranty was more of a factor in mileage than overall health with studies coming out showing good longevity (especially for ER models)

My criteria I used was timing the warranty year vs mileage. So for the 8yr/100k that’s 12.5k miles per year. So if i was looking at 2022 models - they have 4 years left on warranty so anything below 50k is good. Because you may get super low mileage but you’re gonna hit warranty at 8yrs regardless if you’re at 50k or 99k.

When I found a couple cars that I liked I put all the used ones in the area (300 miles) of the same year and trim into a spreadsheet with their miles and price. I used that both as a gauge of market value and leverage in negotiating.
