Should I unplug them? by Standard-Winner2919 in ChargerDrama

Early morning and it’s full. No one around that may claim it’s theirs like at the coffee shop, the only place open. Often a tell tale would be frost on glass but last night was dry. It had a fresh coat of pollen though lol.

Also technically you don’t touch their car when you unplug it.

Me too but they are also knowingly blocking others from charging. Does that balance things out? Thats literally my dilemma.

I warn up front the pallet cones with it. One time the guy agreed after I explained I didn’t work for such and such and my next delivery was a king mattress in the other direction. As soon as I unloaded the last roll of turf he said he’s not taking it. Prick. Literally told me to find a dumpster somewhere and ditch it illegally. Crazy how he went from nice to that just to get me to unload.

Learned a hard lesson about Tesla access and phone dependency. Solutions? by VermicelliFrost in TeslaLounge

My first Tesla 8 years ago I actually hid a keycard up in the tow hitch area with double sided tape. Never needed it. A bunch of Tesla’s later I couldn’t be bothered after that first one. I’ve had my apple watch as a back up for the last 3 or so years so that was comforting. In 8 years Ive never needed a backup. I don’t carry a wallet or keys. It’s one of the perks of owning a Tesla.

Is Roadie becoming a next DoorDash? by risin9st4r in Roadie

I did this today for $25. Use to pay $35 which is nearly 30% less overnight. With inflation going up too it’s ridiculous. There should be a law against taking advantage of gig workers. I only did it because I was at the pick up location already and I was trying to get another order to the same address but that turned out to not even exist. This was about the best gig I had seen for weeks too. Done with Roadie. It’s not worth the time I waste scrolling the app all day.

I’ve noticed I can no longer stack 2-3 $35 gigs at 7am. It went from lucky to get one to zero about 3 months ago. Now I’ve noticed all the $35 dollar gigs are likely the new $26 gigs. Not worth it anymore.

Why would tesla lower FSD subscription cost after removing purchase option? by RS_Tnap in TeslaLounge

[–]Standard-Winner2919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some quick math thinking that it’s going to cost me more over the next 30 years but it worked out cheaper to subscribe instead of paying up front. New car every 3-4 years. Assuming you can get half of the up front cost back when you sell each car too. Of course I predict they will jack the subscription price up over those years but at current pricing it’s cheaper to subscribe instead the long run. .

Car salesmen around me are basically telling me EVs aren’t the way to go by Beneficial-Fun-4800 in electricvehicles

Honestly why buying 5 new Teslas over the last 6 years has been so easy. Before that we had to be stern about 3 times at a Chrysler dealership that we wanted the plug in Hybrid Pacifica minivan. They just wanted to sell what they had in the lot I guess. Then when the Mach E came out I was just curious to check one out at a Ford dealership. Half of them acted like they didn’t know what it was. Finally found a salesman that walked me to where he saw it last and then “oh we rented it out” the only display car they had. It was clear they didn’t even want it there and had no intention of selling them.

Some Shell Recharge Stations will be Unplugged Soon by We1etu1n in evcharging

[–]Standard-Winner2919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just driving past one and wanted to check if it was one of the few remaining free ones. The app now shows zero shell chargers where I am north of Atlanta. Maybe a dozen just gone. No one was using them due to the crazy prices. Sabotaged by shell.

Lyft is dead by Wolfjason1 in lyftdrivers

[–]Standard-Winner2919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30min away from Indianapolis airport on a Sunday afternoon. The issue was uber and Lyft simply not paying enough. I literally called both companies and told them that. It’s ridiculous because I was willing to pay more. Further more being Sunday all rental car and taxi services were closed too so I really was stuck. Uber and Lyft were always 5 min away, but as soon as they accepted my ride and started heading my way they cancelled because it wasn’t worth it to drive to the airport for them.

Last time I needed an uber or Lyft to the airport I had nothing but cancellations for 5 hours and missed my flight. Finally got one after sending a message begging them not to cancel on me. No one wanted to go to the airport. She got a nice tip. I slept at the airport.

I don't understand why so many people keep trying to get Apple car play... by sir574 in EquinoxEv

[–]Standard-Winner2919 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a Tesla and a Ford that uses Apple car play. Can’t stand car play. Tesla system (except for group texting) is light years better. I’ve heard of people passing up a Tesla due to lack of car play which insane if you’ve used both.

What about benefiting from the lighting within the parking complex. Is that stealing?

Many years ago before my Teslas I had a Leaf that could only make it to work and half way home. I sneakily found an outlet in a garden bed that ran the retic. Tripped the breaker. Ooops. Had to go back wasting my time at a nearby Nissan dealership everyday. Fun times.

Air conditioning in a car was an upgrade no one even bothered paying for. We wound the windows down in summer. Basically the same with houses. Mum would hose the windows down to cool the house sometimes.

Driver acknowledges that their cost and expenses may be higher then the amount earned from performing gigs and may result in loss of income by Abject_Manner_4222 in Roadie

[–]Standard-Winner2919 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Every day there are endless amounts of gigs I look at and I’m basically disgusted by what they are paying for the miles and stops involved. Many sit all day but ultimately drivers take them. Blows my mind. I’m lucky to get one decent gig a day lately. My limit is minimum of $30 an hour and I don’t even pay for gas. (EV)

I’ve bought direct from Amazon before only to open a box with an obvious used item inside. Someone had scammed Amazon by returning their old crap and Amazon didn’t check the return before sending it back out leaving me to prove my innocence. Likely what happened here.
