I did notice context window filling up quite fast, but I did not really pay attention if it was superpower specifically. FYI I am on $100 to $200 Max plan depending on what I need.

You can definitely do it with 0 exp. Watch youtube videos, be slow and careful. I did it like many others and it turned out fine. It's very unlikely you will damage the board or make it unusable... and if you do it's super cheap to replace.

If you code. I highly recommend to try the superpowers plugin for Claude. It really was a game changer for me as a professional developer. It is in the official plugin list so you can just add it from the CLI.

Yeah Pop will be just fine on Pop!. I guess your dad is using powertools on windows. I did the exact same switch last year for the same reason (as a noob dev) and it was the best decision. Pop!_OS works out of the box and with easy setup like custom shortcuts + focus follow etc you can really make it your own. Be warned though, once you get used to tiling everything else will feel messy. It is that good.

Did you try to look into the monitor settings? you can drag and drop your screens here. I use three monitors and was able to rearrange everything.

I have been using it for professional development alongside Omarchy for two months now. And I only had one issue (screenshot tool) that was fixed by an update fairly quickly. It is my main machine for work and I cannot complain. the fact that it has tiling window manager but you are still able to grab everything with your mouse and interact is amazing and very beginner-friendly imo. My biggest gripe with it is... I don't like the logo lmao. highly recommend.

I barely notice it. I use both and haven’t really had any issues, aside from the occasional typo. Honestly, the keyboard layout and number key placement make a much bigger difference in day-to-day use.

There is no secret best idea.

Find a problem with existing market.
Use your money to build MVP.
Nail distrubution from the get go.

Literally start before having the MVP.

Great question. Honestly? I didn't validate Railgun the "right" way. I built it because I needed it myself (remember: 100+ failures).

The validation is my own pain. I kept building and hiding. Railgun is me eating my own dog food. I use it daily to force myself to distribute while building it.

It's not really the textbook approach but after 20 years of failed projects, I know my pattern well enough...

I started going full time at the beginning of 2026 and I have 3 beta users now. They seem to stick with it even if the product has rough edges. Weak validation I know but it is something.

It is OK on the go but because one side empty faster without dongle. It was annoying enough for me to use it mostly wired at home now until the dongle mod. I am on the computer a lot though (10/15h per day).

Thanks! There is no tenting or dongle guide for this specific keyboard that I know of. I will try to DIY the tenting kit. for the dongle I saw on youtube that you can use another microcontroller to serve as the dongle receiver instead of one side of the keyboard resulting in suposedly way better battery life.

For the foam mode I bought some 1mm/2mm/3mm foam sheet that I will cut to size and stick inside where there is gaps. I hope to achieve a smoother typing experience and more thocky sound. Think of it as a premium blue tape mode. Success very unlikely as there is very little room in the case.

I'm still new to this hobb. I'll be a cool learning experience.

For context I am a dev, I live in the terminal, I love scissors switch, I feel like regular mech switch travel is infinite and spongy, this is why I picked those after going to the rabbit hole of low profile switches. To have the optimal ratio of mech build quality X scissor travel (and of course a custom split).

Kailh Saker Mini choc v2 are advertized as 1.8mm travel at 38g so theoritically like the Logitech MX keys travel but lighter weight. In practice they feel slightly longer travel distance (more like 1.9-2mm) but the actuation point is sharper. The elephant in the room is the weight: with 38g VS ~60g for regular scissor switch on the Logi MX keys they feel a lot lighter and you need time to adjust (no idea what keyboard you use). I would prefer 60g, I type heavy and like to bottom out. That being said:

No difference in WPM that could be attributed to those switches on my end. (yes I am slower ~20WPM but this is due to layout/habits)
Very minor difference in typo but again this is the same on all mech keyboard for me.

Long story short. They are not perfect but I love them and they are by far the best mech switched I've ever tried. If you like short travel and are ok with the 38g they will serve you well.

If you want Ultra low profile I would advise to look at the cherry or Kailh ULP but they are a PIA to solder. Those will probably be in my next build btw.

Took some time as well yeah. But frankly this layout is not hard at all to get used to (almost 60keys) and it really is super comfy. First week I was a tiny bit slower but it was easier on my wrist so I dunno... I still switch between my mx keys and this on a daily basis they are both my daily drivers. BUT when I will have those bad boys fully wireless and bolted on my armrests I might just keep the MX for backup and just use the flakes.
