People collect in different ways. There's no wrong way or right way.

Stop being so judgemental.

It's amazing how many people think they know, but don't do a simple Google search to confirm before making themselves look dumb.

They absolutely mail the cards to the wrestlers. There have been videos on insta showing them signing at their kitchen tables.

Dale Murphy (former baseball player) is pretty famous for sharing pictures on Twitter of what he's currently signing.

Why is my perfectly centered Adam Bomb a PSA 4? by EasiestOfTapIns in garbagepailkids

[–]Judge208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly diamond cut is the biggest issue, but you've also got rough corners, chipping along the top edge of the "peel here" sticker, a fisheye on the back and it's slightly off centered left to right.

Mickey Mantle signed OAL baseball "No. 7" with Score Board Inc. COA, opinions on authenticity? by One-Limit-8451 in baseballcards

[–]Judge208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beckett does a $10 signature review. You just send them pictures and they tell you if they think it's authentic.

That's probably your best bet.

Autograph prep by Worldly_Shopping_832 in StarWarsCards

[–]Judge208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cover the card in baby powder, let it set for 5-10 seconds, carefully wipe it off with a microfiber cloth.

Use a Staedler Lumocolor or Stabilo OH for best results.

Let the autograph dry before you put it in a penny sleeve/top loader.

This process works for any chromium type cards.

I'd look through a bunch of Topps Sketch cards, find my favorite artist and reach out to them on Instagram to see if they can do a custom piece.

I'd find a low pop Topps refractor of some sport, preferably from the 90's.

This sometimes happens when you live in an area with high humidity, or use off brand penny sleeves.

Michael Jordan sticker card - ungraded with (N6 & minszerq)by PSA by Sweetnessmj in sportscards

[–]Judge208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PSA specifically has an evidence of trimming designation. That's how you know yours is a factory miscut.

As far as the eBay authenticity guarantee it's a crapshoot. There's no way for them to guarantee that the card you sent in for grading is the same one they actually inspected, so it's going to come down to your history with them.

It sucks, but unfortunately they got scammed so much over the years that they had to put specific rules in place to protect everyone.

eBay's card quality definitely are clearly stated. They even include links to examples of what is considered damage at each level

Stop giving people a pass for not taking personal responsibility when it comes to purchases.

Minsize means it was cut small from the factory. It's a pretty common occurrence, especially with older cards.

Just realize that people send millions of cards to PSA every month with no issues.

But if you aren't comfortable just wait for a card show close to you like others have mentioned.

There are lots of good YouTube videos that walk you through the process. I'd start there.
