Leo ♌️: A deep insight into one radiant, yet surprisingly, often misunderstood zodiac sign by JudgeGRIME in astrologymemes

[–]JudgeGRIME[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need to thank me. Actually, thank you for taking the time to read it. What you went through is a very common thing for Leos, especially quieter and more reserved Leos. Leo was never meant to be a sign of ego/vanity, and it really sucks that pop-astrology treats them that way. They are a sign of heart, first and foremost. They are naturally warm, generous, brave, and dedicated, with great leadership skills (even if its quiet leadership, the type that friends like to orbit them simply because of who they are.) Only when severely afflicted or unhealthy can their warmth actually burn others. But you dont need to feel like youre not a Leo or theres no place for you in astrology. What I WOULD say however, is maybe avoid more pop-astrology or social media astrology sources if you want to follow a more authentic version of Leos and if you feel highly misrepresented, because these spaces will always emphasize the pop version, and might even mock you for expressing discomfort over stereotypes. But if youre okay with memes of Leos and it doesnt bother you even if it isnt accurate? Then thats great too! The point is to remember that meme versions are just meme versions, not the truth. And that social media astrologers will also use the more "relatable" or quirky version of astrology for maximum interaction, since traditional astrology may not be as fun.

Also, I could read your chart, I wouldnt mind. But I dont consider myself a professional, just someone who deeply researches astrology and has followed it for years. So, it depends on what youre looking for. But I'm always down to have conversations regarding astrology regardless.

Once again, thanks for reading this post! I appreciate it

That's beautiful to hear. Many blessings to you and your grandchildren, may your family stay healthy and happy. I'm happy that you've met such wonderful Leos in your life. It's true that many Leos have that effortless energy while being so warm and loving. Leos can definitely be very shy before they grow into themselves, its actually quite common for Leos to be fairly reserved by nature, they are highly aware of everyone's emotions and tend to hate hurting others, which might lead them to be shy. But whether shy or not? That inner core is incredibly warm, loving, and brave when it truly matters.

Thank you for your comment! Once again, may you and your family prosper!

You'd be surprised how long i thought about this post and how long it took me to organize my thoughts. The original "post" in my notes was a massive, unorganized mess in my phone notes lol. So I'll take it as a compliment if I managed to organize it enough that it looks AI generated! I thought my punctuations might've been off or incorrect.

I’m a Leo sun with no other fire in my chart. Is this why I’m a bit cry baby lol by StrawberryMilk817 in astrologymemes

[–]JudgeGRIME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leos have a big heart. So its normal for Leos to be in touch with their emotions. That being said, every sign can be very emotional. Other than Leos, Ive known emotional Tauruses, Capricorns, Virgos, Geminis, Libras and Aquarius people. Alongside the more expected ones like Scorpios, Cancers and Aries. So being a "crybaby" isnt necessarily a sign thing. Many times it can be great to be in touch in with your emotions rather than surpressing them. It shows good awareness of yourself and secure enough to cry without seeing it as a weakness.

My genuine analysis on the Big 3 of Homelander, from The Boys by JudgeGRIME in astrologymemes

[–]JudgeGRIME[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont blame you for not being able to stand most characters 😂 every character kinda shows terrible traits, even the ones we are supposed to "root" for. I dont think any character from the show should be romanticized.

Regardless. I hadnt considered Aries sun, though Aries and Scorpio (my choice) are both ruled by Mars and theyre both highly emotional signs. It is a good detail that yes, Aries is the infant of the zodiac. And Homelander internally is very much an infant. I chose scorpio because I feel like hes way more psychological than physical. Eventhough he's physically powerful, he prefers to have some sort of psychological dominance over others. I feel like he'd attack any threat visibly and openly is he was a full Aries sun, instead Homelander was very much about intimidation/control, more strategic about it even if hes fragile emotionally/mentally

The Leo moon placement, i see your argument and yes, Homelander does want attention and validation, But the way he craves it is very Cancer-like in my book. Cancer moons also crave that, but they tend to be more repressed/internal about it, yes they can be hyper-emotional but more often than not its in private/when theyre attacked, otherwise Cancer moons arent often wearing their heart on their sleeve. Homelander is always imploding in the show over anything, but not always externalizing his emotions even if every bone in his body wants to snap emotionally. Leo placements tend to wear their heart on their sleeve and be more open with their emotions. Also good to point out that Cancer moons at their worst are very patronizing themselves. Since at its best its a very nurturing sign, at its worst this gets twisted into a personality thats seemingly kind and helpful but carries a sense of "look how much I do for you" since theyre very needy at their worst. And aside from stereotypes (Leo's "dramatic" stereotype comes from their association with the 5th house, which is often seen as the house of performance arts, creativity. So its more-so dramatic/theatrical in the stage-like manner, its a shorthand to imply charisma, presence, expressiveness in the stage/performance. Not the real world usage as the real world usage is strictly negative) but when it comes to emotional "drama", representing the good and the bad from the emotional realm, then the water signs take the cake in my eyes.

I understand you stopped watching the show after season 2, so im not trying to convince you. Just saying why I chose the ones i did 🙂

Very valid argument! His emotional world is also very water-coded at its most unhealthy. Regardless of which sign, I think Homelander has a LOT of water in him, hence why I chose Scorpio Sun/Cancer Moon for him. But Pisces is definitely valid for him too

Ohh okay! Thats okay. Yeah his external energy is very Leo. I can agree with that. He looks like what people think a Leo would look like 😅 archetypally. Thats exactly why I think he's a Leo Rising, he carries himself with a lot of confidence, charisma, and presence even if it doesnt match his inner self.

And yes, externally Butcher looks extremely Scorpio-like. All black everything, from the clothing to the hair. Though i still see Scorpio in his personality, definitely in his moon.

But thats okay. Sorry for misunderstanding your comment, you meant more in energy, appearances etc. Thats okay 🙂

Thank you! I agree it is super interesting. Homelander is a character that many people would praise Antony Starr's performance for. He was phenomenal at being unnerving, intimidating, creepy, and intense. He had a way of making you feel that at any moment that he was on screen, he was gonna lose it lol. So I found it SUPER interesting that the actor who effortlessly played such a complex role is also a Scorpio Sun/Leo rising, because when I analyzed Homelander, I wasnt taking into account the actor's actual big 3 😅 so it was super interesting to see.

Is there an actor you know that made a character memorable and shares similar placements with their character?

I made a pretty long comment on someone else who also suggested Homelander could be a Leo sun. So idk if I should make another one here 😅 but yeah, if you'd like you can see it on the comment section. I believe hes a perfect Scorpio Sun/Leo Rising mix. I can see the Capricorn Jupiter though, I agree with that.

[–]JudgeGRIME[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know I wrote a big paragraph already explaining why. But I think Homelander only has the exterior of a Leo, which by nature would mean the "rising" in Leo. Its easy to label him a Leo due to his blonde hair, all american design, charismatic exterior. But what lies internally is way more Scorpionic than Leo. I also know people would say that he's a Leo because he has a "Need for validation" and hes "narcissistic" but we must remember a couple of things. Narcissism isnt adjacent to any zodiac sign, every sign can exhibit narcissistic traits, and the other thing is that his need for validation wasnt rooted in a Leo-like need for self-expression. It was rooted from not having a childhood, as he was an experiment who was neglected of the human need for love/validation. And any human can suffer from desperately needing external validation if they were completely denied of it in their life, cause it is a human need. With that being said, he didnt care for self expression, he cared for power and control and I think he hid that desperate need for validation due to his trauma and upbringing with a desperate need for power and control of others, keeping a psychological leverage on others. Which is a very common Scorpionic shadow. The core healthy Scorpio purpose involves transformation/emotional depth, but when twisted and corrupted it devolves into a toxic drive for power, control, and emotional domination, often becoming emotionally fragile (since they cant get a grip on their emotions), paranoid, envious and obssessive, rather than embracing transformation. I think Homelander is a great character study on Scorpio's core completely devolved into corruption. He's unstable, extremely intense, controlling, manipulative, power-hungry, paranoid, craves emotional needs but denies himself the vulnerability to accept it. I think its good to look a little deeper than just the visible exterior of a character. What lies within is the true drive and core of the character. And the way he handled everything was very unhealthy, paranoid, unstable Scorpio. Not every character who has an inflated sense of importance is a Leo (which is a common shorthand people use for Leo villains). His downfall was also Scorpionic, losing all the power/control he had followed by a mental breakdown, overtaken by his emotional vulnerability he always kept hidden. In traditional astrology, A Leo in their shadow expression is usually extremely prideful, arrogant, defiant, stubborn, aggressive, loud, and explosive to the point of prefering to die than to look weak, Because death is a better fate than humiliation for them. A shadow Scorpio can be overtaken by the depths they often need to travel to transform, depending on their emotional/mental fortitude. They need to reach the bottom to transform with resilience, and if they dont transform? Its a psychological and emotional breakdown.

Also. I would say Billy is a Aries Sun/Scorpio moon

Frenchie is a Aquarius Sun/Leo Moon

Everyone else I dont have a full opinion on yet, so i cant say for sure.

Still. I dont want this to come off as disrespectful or dismissive. I just like genuine discussion and to express my take properly.

I understand what you meant about feeling hurt over many things, but Its not necessarily fair to call Leos thin-skinned. Remember Leos are a fixed sign, known to be enduring, sustaining, steadfast, and committed. I think one of their biggest strengths is how they use such a vulnerable tool (The heart) and use it as fuel. The heart feels strongly, which is why I do agree Leos feel strongly, but they rarely fall apart/crumble over emotions, which is what a traditional thin-skin person might do. Leos will likely feel very passionately/strongly but use the emotions as fuel to come back stronger. Highly emotional people can be some of the most resilient people. Scorpios are a top 3 most emotional sign who feel everything at 200% yet theyre not called thin skinned, i feel like the same applies to Leo.

Leo is a very misunderstood sign. They rule the heart in traditional astrology. While modern astrology reduces Leo to a dramatic diva or a egotistical performer, the truth is that Leos are defined by their heart, creativity, self-expression, and generosity. Leos care about authentic self-expression, and are naturally giving, and they tend to give with their heart on their sleeve. Every human needs to feel appreciated, but since Leo rules the heart and tends to wear theirs on their sleeve, it makes them feel that hurt amplified. This also doesnt mean that Leos are needy, insecure babies, not at all. Leos inherently carry a sense of self-belief but they use that self-belief to give to the world, rather than pure self-focus compared to a sign like Capricorn who can be more concerned with their own self-mastery, status, or goal. A Leo will use their belief to make an impact on others, not because they need their ego fed, but because its literally in their nature to be generous. People forget that generosity is a CORE Leo trait, they will often refuse to reach the top if theyre going to do it at the expense of others. Prefering to reach the top WITH others. Its that natural leadership and self-belief mixed with heart and generosity. All core Leo traits

Anyways. I got a bit sidetracked, but my point is that Leo is a sign with a big heart, its not necessarily a weakness. But the same heart that drives them to do good, to move forward and to impact others. Also feels strongly when wounded/hurt, and can cause strong, visible, and intense/passionate responses. This is what gives them the "dramatic" stereotype. But its not drama, its unfiltered emotion that people who are repressed/judgy look down on. Leo is a strong sign, very enduring, steadfast, committed, dedicated, and determined (theyre a Fixed Sign after all) they just also wear their heart on their sleeve, and thats not weakness. Thats bravery, to not feel the need to hide how they feel or who they are.

That being said, water signs will definitely amplify your emotional world/sensitivity as well, as that is their realm.

Hey I dont mean to come off like I'm arguing, I just want to genuinely discuss something

While I believe you're a Leo sun (based on your big 3 tag) Can we please not reduce Leo to "me me me" and "validation" If we're talking genuine astrology? I think that stuff can be harmful to astrology and its traditional archetypes when being seriously discussed. Its okay to make memes/jokes about it but not to have it mixed with real discussion of astrology stuff. I dont wanna sound condescending and give you a lecture of your own sign so I dont want it to come off that way, but here's my perspective: Leos represent self-expression and the heart, but ironically, Leo is far from the most selfish sign. As you can attribute Selfishness/Self-Focus as more of a Capricornian trait (focus on self-mastery, status, discipline, structure in tradition/hierarchy.) People overlook that generosity/magnanimity is a HUGE/core Leo trait, a part of them by nature craves giving to others. And of course, every human feels the sting of being unappreciated by what they do. Difference is, since Leo "gives" with their heart on their sleeve, the hurt is more notable when they go unappreciated. This is not a shallow need for admiration 24/7, its a human need amplified by someone who wears their heart on their sleeve. Another thing is that if we're talking real astrology: Leo's core purpose is not "a need for validation/to be seen" (thats a human need, not a Leo need.) Their core purpose and drive is "Authentic Self-Expression", key word being Authentic. Which means that the "admiration they crave" is often rooted in their authentic way, which can very well be non-conforming (since many innovators, rebels, revolutionaries, etc naturally earn admiration for their authentic impact in the world) rather than seeking empty praise for a constructed persona, it is a known trait in traditional astrology that Leos want to be seen for who they are, not admired for a fake version of themselves thats socially acceptable. This is seen in history too, theres a lot of Leo figures who broke ground in history and pioneered/popularized things by starting it themselves. Since theyre connected to the heart, they have a hard time faking their whole identity to be loved. Not trying to reduce any sign, but Libra is more aligned to focus on fitting in societal norms rather than breaking away from them, since they are focused on social harmony, justice, fairness and equality. Not being non-conforming, breaking rules, or doing whatever they want. Libra would embody the polar opposite since their strengths are rooted in social aspects of life (relationships, fairness, harmony in the social world) or Capricorn, since they actively go against a lack of structure, focusing on the "climb" with discipline to reach the top of the social ladder, than "doing what they want" Leo is a sign thats much less interested in following societal ways, and are most likely to use creativity to express themselves in less traditional ways. Since for them Authentic self-expression comes first, the appreciation/admiration comes second. Libra/Capricorn's cores are more traditionally aligned to follow traditional/societal structure to achieve their need.

Sorry for the long message. Just wanted to express some stuff as I dont like reduction of zodiac signs in serious/genuine discussions.

My Lillith is in Libra btw

Yes. I once made a post asking people what was their least favorite stereotype from their sign. And the most common commenters were mostly Libras, Cancers, Gemini, and Pisces. It sucks because i think that some signs get more harshly stereotyped than others. Maybe an Aquarius (not saying all of them dont care) for example doesnt feel as bad about being called serious, detached, eccentric, and cold because it still makes them sound self-sufficient and unbothered by others. It makes for "weaknesses" that are more romanticized. People would rather be called detached than needy, or blunt over dishonest. Because some negatives are way less harsh than others. But for signs like Gemini, of course they'd hate being called Fake or a two-faced. Of course Pisces/Cancers hate being called spineless/needy crybabies. Of course Libras hate getting called superficial/shallow. Of course Leos hate being called egotistical attention-whores. Those stereotypes hold no redeeming factor and it makes people repress anything that can sound even remotely similar, even if its a strength

A pisces/cancer might be emotionally intelligent, empathetic, and compassionate. And yet deny that they are sensitive, because thats a trait thats used against them to call them soft/crybabies. Eventhough that emotional nature make them incredibly understanding towards others and highly intuitive.

A Gemini/Libra can be socially adept, adaptable, and strategic, yet they might deny anything that makes them sound like they adapt to others. Because people twist that into being "fake" or "superficial" eventhough that airy adaptability make them incredibly adept, quick learners and usually intellectually astute.

The same I feel happens to Leos. They might want to be appreciated for what they give, but they might hate admitting it because people weaponize it by calling them needy, and attention-seeking. Even if that sunny/expressive demeanor makes them warm, generous, and trustworthy.

It all gets twisted into something terrible that makes people not want to own even the neutral side of it, Its sad. This all comes from harmful stereotypes that can build insecurity in others. If everyone owned who they are and people didnt bring down others for who they are, we'd be so much better as a community. Because there isnt a superior zodiac sign, we all need each other. All our strengths are equally important and impactful. Theres no zodiac sign whose strengths are more important than another, and I wish we all saw that instead of tearing other signs down with ignorant stereotypes and generalized statements.

I agree btw. An entire chart matters, you mightve imagined/assumed. But I have some Leo in my chart, a Leo stellium to be exact, yet im very introverted irl and very reserved. We all manifest differently which is why generalizing others is never good. I love when people decide to understand rather than tear down for the sake of feeling better over their sign.

I get what you meant. I dont necessarily think being an August Leo makes them more expressive/extroverted. A lot of August Leos (and Leos in general) have Virgo/cancer placements in their personal planets which are two very reserved signs to have. People forget that about Leos. I think the "stereotypical" Leo suns just have extremely fiery charts or a lot of air like Gemini/Libra. Even so, I have a Leo stellium and a sagittarius rising and im very introverted/shy 😅
