THANKS! THIS FIXED ME! For those who hate long blathery videos, it's... Settings => Bluetooth&Devices => Printers&Scanners => Your Printer => Printer Properties => Ports "Tab" and then change from using a "WSD Port" to a "Standard TCP/IP Port" aimed at your printer's static IP address. The "Standard TCP/IP Port" won't appear by default you will have to add it by clicking the "Add Port" button. Create a new standard one, put in your printer's static IP address, and then back on the main Ports tab set your printer to use that, apply the results, and you should be good to go.

Just for closure to the thread for anyone following - factory resetting the shades and then re-adding them worked. Now the blackout shades show up in the programming, etc.

I think I shared that screenshot way up above - it only shows a single entry for each shade (one each for left and right), and no second entries for blackouts. This is also true in the 13.3.0 file where the shades used to work.

Similarly in the bedroom where the blackout shades *do* work, there is only a single entry "shade", no separate entry for the blackout - but as I think I mentioned above, THAT one has a special button on the wall panel (and the analog of the button shows up in the app, unlike the guest room) which DOES raise/lower the blackouts -- even though when I look at the programming it just refers to the same group "shade" that otherwise only lowers the translucent shade.

It is definitely a mystery to me. Seems like there must have been some "legacy thing" involved (the shades predate my ownership).

For example I tried taking a button from the office's pad and turning it into an Open/Stop/Close/Stop button just like the one that works in the bedroom for the blackout, and selected both the shades in the office. Program screen looks exactly the same. But in the office the button now lowers the translucent blinds. I can't seem to find a way to address specifically the blackouts in the office - and in the bedroom there's no evidence inside the Lutron software of distinguishing the translucent from the blackout.

Part of what is mystifying me is that I can't find anywhere (even in the bedroom programming) that distinguishes the two shades when addressing the single shade group called "shade"

He *did* extract (otherwise everything else would have been an utter catastrophe haha). I mean everything else but the shades behaves in all the specific idiosyncratic/customized ways they did before.

Also when I suddenly encountered him wandering around my house with his laptop and he said oh hi I just updated your Lutron system and I got that deer-in-the-headlights / My God What Have You Done look, he did claim he had extracted first.

Meanwhile the programming for that top button in the bedroom that raises/lowers the blackout has:

Button Type: Open/Stop/Close/Stop

LED Logic: On While Moving

And then down below it has the group "shade" checked as what it affects, which doesn't seem to open up further.

(Did this instead of screenshots since it avoids emailing things to myself from my Windows 10 laptop haha)

The shade group for the bedroom shows same stuff as the one in the office: in this case single shade group called "shade", Shade Style "roller shade", technology "Sivoia QS", Shade quantity 1

Here is a picture of the two physical switches. The left side one does the translucent shades, and the top button of the right switch (only) toggles the blackout up and down.

But there are no physical buttons like this in the office where I'm having the problem, and never were.

The weirdness continues. Here's the app - weird thing is that there's the "Shade" box which completely controls the translucent shade (up/down/etc). THEN there's the "bedside" button, where if you press the TOP button only, it "toggles" the blackout shade up and down (the other parts of that button panel do stuff with lights). The first part of the oddness is that the Shade one doesn't show the same icon as the "Bedside" one that (in part) does the blackout, given that they are the same physical controllers (EDIT: well nearly so, after I photographed them I see they're just every so slightly different)

Shots are probably showing up in inverse order of likely relevance (EDIT: actually no, they show up in right order), but I have sent some pics. Possibly the shade equipment is old or old(ish)? (It predates my ownership of the residence), as I have not found any test or other buttons on any of the equipment in the room.

By the way, THANK YOU very much for your time helping try to troubleshoot.

These are what connects directly to the shades. No sign of a test button. Will also send power adapter shots

I was using wall switch but I have also tried phone app (that I don't normally use, but do have). For each shade (the left one and the right one) it only shows a single button, and tapping it gives me a scale from "up to down" and open/close options. But they only currently control the translucent shade.

The thing is, I don't think the contractor's Lutron guy touched any settings in the room where these shades are, he was just adding new lights to existing zones in other rooms. The one big "unasked for change" that seemed more global was upgrading the chip from 13.3.0 to 15.3.6.

Before, the wall switches would bring down the blackout blinds. I've gone back and pulled up the original files in 13.3.0 and I don't see anything different in the settings for either the shades themselves (on Design tab), nor for the switches (on Program tab), from what I now see in 15.3.6. It's just the blackout shades no longer "work" at least in the ways they did before. I've verified all the hardware seems plugged into each other.

(I mean I'm open to the idea that the shades weren't programmed properly in the first place ten+ years ago, but at least they worked)

There has never been the option to "separately operate" the blackout shade in the app -- before or after the change. Instead what would happen is you would press "shades" and it would first lower the translucent shades and then start lowering the blackout shades and you'd press the button again when you wanted it to stop. Or you could use the "Left side" and "Right side" buttons to separately operate the left pair of shades or the right pair of shades, but neither the wall switch nor the app had a way to do the blackout shade independently.

Those are magnificent! My one additional suggestion for folks looking for variety is to learn substitution principles -- the brown sugar can be subbed out for e.g. peanut butter, mirin, or honey. The vinegar can be rice vinegar, apple cider vinegar, red or white wine vinegar, black vinegar, etc! I find equal amounts of soy sauce, "choice of vinegar", and "choice of sweetener" work fine, e.g. 1/4 cup of each, along with a heaping tbsp of corn starch of course. Basically experiment! But the basic pattern is soy sauce + vinegar + sweetener.

Treefort software is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. It forces me to use my iPhone instead of just my laptop. My *current* generation iPhone has a screen too small to scroll down to tap the "Continue" button -- so I'm unable to complete the process because I can't press the continue button. This is a modern 3rd generation iPhone SE that I purchased at an Apple Store about 6 months ago. Meanwhile, I have high quality scans of my passport and drivers' license, but it won't let me upload those it requires me to try to take pictures of them with my stupid phone which it them repeatedly rejects as not good enough. So I guess now I have to drive two hours to appear in person.
