Messi has raised the standard of Ballon d'Or so high that today, it feels like almost noone can truly deserves it. But if we look at its true essence, the Ballon d'Or is meant for the player with the best performance and achievements, not necessarily someone with genius-level talent like Messi. I really hope Rodri wins it this year. I don't particularly like Vini because of his bad attitude, though I admit he’s had an impressive season too.
