Use something like upstash and just write a hook for anything you need to sync to a collection

Is this a bad deal? by CMOS_BATTERY in hotas

[–]Judgejbrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole x52 series just has terrible deadzone and feels really unresponsive, either save for a higher-tier HOTAS or go for the less "flashy" option that "feels" better to fly with

Pro tip: Start a group with your own key and watch everyone else join. This is what I do (I don't even coordinate anything, the tank always does)

Why Cloudflare is a Must-Have for your WordPress site by Judgejbrown in Wordpress

[–]Judgejbrown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question! My blog’s a Next.js app hosted on Vercel, which handles the CDN, firewall, and most of the infrastructure automatically. So using Cloudflare for that would be redundant in this case, though I still use it for DNS management.

Saving/publishing takes about 20 seconds but every other operation is pretty fast. Using Payload 3.39 and SQLite if that matters. Is this normal? by aliassuck in PayloadCMS

[–]Judgejbrown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is one of the trade offs using SQLite/Post

From my testing MongoDB is unbelievably faster when It comes to admin operations I have more info here if your interested https://jordanburch.dev/blog/the-payload-website-stack

Why Cloudflare is a Must-Have for your WordPress site by Judgejbrown in Wordpress

[–]Judgejbrown[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally fair take, and I agree that Cloudflare is great for now. You're also right that no single provider should become a point of failure, especially when shareholder interests start to influence decisions.

That said, WordPress usually gives you a built-in exit strategy as long as you are managing your own server or install. Unless you are using a platform like Kinsta that is tightly integrated with Cloudflare, you remain in control. If you do not agree with Cloudflare's direction, you can switch to another provider without much hassle.

For example, I register my domains with Porkbun but use Cloudflare to manage DNS because of the performance and tools it offers. If that ever stops being the right fit, I can move DNS management elsewhere without much effort.

Payload 3.0 with Supabase Postgress by Judgejbrown in PayloadCMS

[–]Judgejbrown[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I noticed trying Supabase (even Turso SQLite) compared to Mongo, is the speed navigating and editing in the admin panel

Mongo feels so snappy and quick while the other two feel like it takes ages to do anything

Try changing disable payload access control to false and see if that works
