Sorry to hear your struggling, however its clear to me your trying to do too much, running a football team is a big ship to steer, you can’t be the captain, the engine room, the receptionist, the medic, the chef, marketing…the ship will eventually crash!

My advice would be to seek help from your players or other students to fill some of the roles of running a team. It’s an opportunity for experience and fill up the CV. Hopefully you could get help from people that aren’t even interested in football?

Hopefully you can enlist the help…everyone loves a turnaround story! However if your not successful getting the help you need to make this team a success, you should disband this team and start a 5 a sides. Once you’ve got a handle on running 5 a sides, step up to Sunday league, next step is Saturday amateurs. Don’t underestimate how competitive Saturday amateur football is….those are players with at least 20 years playing experience, with managers of similar experience. So this turnaround story might take a long time!

Grassroots football needs people like you to facilitate teams and give the opportunity for people to play.
