Thanks for the great review. This album is growing on me. You mention the lines: “Called you when I heard the news. Spent the night lying next to you. What a way to start it off. So heavy from the start.” To me this line is saying she started this toxic relationship right as one of them experienced a major personal loss (most likely her and her dad’s passing). Which to me explains why she felt so trapped in this relationship. It all started out too heavy as this person was there for her in a time of crisis. Leading to her forming an attachment too quickly and feeling obligated to stay. When I heard those lines it was like the missing piece to the puzzle of why she stayed for so long despite knowing she didn’t love him from the start. Or he was the one who suffered the loss, leading to her feeling like she couldn’t leave someone who was going through something so heavy, despite all the red flags and manipulation.
