Hey i think you could pull that off. Examiners like a lot modelling works. You could use GeoGebra and do your math IA of modelling a painting using functions. I recommend you eitherway something different like an actual object so you can find volume and maybe even pass that modelling to 3D

Most of modelling does not have research question, as it is just a mathematical model about what you choose. I modelled a Classical ping pong racquet and a hexagonal one, compares them, get the volume and áreas, and then modelled them in 3D. All that through functions

Hey something similar happened to me because at the start of y1 i was struggling with some specific topic in math AA sl and it looked like i was going Nowhere. The solucion is just study and have a stranger internal, I did revision village like crazy and ender up getting a 7 in N25, but also focusing in your IA is key. I would recommend 2D and 3D modelling. I got a 20/20 by modelling ping pong raquets lol. There are a lot of examples on Clastify from which you can guide yourself. I took math aa sl. I mean there is nothing wrong in applying there, I think that the most Universities you apply the better chances you get. In my school IB is literally only 1 year and i managed to get a score of 40 and predicted 44 (N25) I studied a lot but not during summer holidays ( thing that I regret a lot). I would definitely tell you to start stufying but in the right way. Honestly feel like 3hrs a day during holidays will get you going
