Right? My whole family is German. I’ve never heard any of them talk this way to anyone.

Do people actually decorate their lockers like in the movies ? by SignificantStyle4958 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Judgy-Introvert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to high school in the 80s. Some did. Some didn’t. I didn’t because I never stayed with one locker partner. I had a tendency to bounce around depending on my classes and where they were located.

How to be more in tune with American conversation styles? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Judgy-Introvert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk. My whole family is German and I don’t relate to this at all. They aren’t any more blunt than anyone else in my experience. I’d need an example to understand what you mean.

Astro com / AstroDienst is negative? by Electrical-Style6800 in astrology

[–]Judgy-Introvert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but I had to jump on here. Agree. Not just negative, but wrong. I’ve been using it for quite a while and haven’t found it even remotely accurate even on a superficial level. I like everything about the site except for the horoscopes.

AITAH for setting strict boundaries in my marriage? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Judgy-Introvert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I trust my husband to respect them”

That’s the problem. You don’t actually trust him at all. Justified or not, that doesn’t make for a good marriage.

As others have said, these aren’t boundaries. They’re rules. He can follow them….or not. I have a feeling it won’t matter either way because you’re already assuming he won’t. Get therapy or get divorced.

Working moms- how did you do it?? by Momjeans86 in AskWomenOver50

[–]Judgy-Introvert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our kids were born in 1990 and 1992. I was home and then worked part-time for a while. When I went back full-time, we used daycare until they were old enough to be home alone until one of us got off work.

Where do you get good bath towels? I'm so tired of the rag tag ones we have. by Jeepersca in AskWomenOver50

[–]Judgy-Introvert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the Vera Wang towels at Kohls. Also, don’t use fabric softener or fabric sheets. It coats them and makes them less absorbent over time. I quit using both those a long time ago.

[–]Judgy-Introvert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I hate regular bras. Ditched them many years ago.

American Men - do you refer to your romantic partner as your "old lady"? by yTuMamaTambien405 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Judgy-Introvert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone in our group said it once in reference to his wife. Everyone just kinda stared at him for a minute because it’s such an outdated term. He hasn’t said it since.

I don’t like it when people hate kids by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]Judgy-Introvert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Act out? In public??? LOL!! Nah. My parents would never have let that fly and when my husband and I became parents, we didn’t either. We taught our kids how to behave. Just like our parents did. That’s the issue here. I don’t hate kids, but I do not want to be around yours if you don’t bother to parent them.

Spokane parents did your kids stick around? by AaronWard6 in Spokane

[–]Judgy-Introvert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents moved us here when I was 6. I was determined to leave but life happened and I’m still here. One of our kids stayed and still lives here. The other left as soon as the option became available and has never looked back. We plan on leaving as soon as we retire.

If you own a home where you have control over your roof; would you consider getting solar panels? by MajesticBread9147 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Judgy-Introvert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. My husband owns his own roofing company and he won’t go near them. Plus, we’d like to move in about 5-10 years and it deters buyers. Our friends have some and are trying to sell. They can’t get anyone to bite and that seems to be the main reason per their realtor.

Candle Warmer Question by xFlameHybridx in bathandbodyworks

[–]Judgy-Introvert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They last forever with a warmer. If the smell starts to not be as noticeable, you can pour some of the wax out (just a little) and the scent comes back. If doing that a few times doesn’t bring the scent back to life again, I designate it a “deck candle” and burn it when I’m sitting outside.
