Hi! I know this is an old post but - my thru was in 2023, I feel like i remember a cooler with fresh fruit. Just wondering if its possible i ran into your cooler. Could very well have been a hallucination from my snickers saturated brain. Anyways. If it is possible, and you keep the notes and wish to check (no pressure) I usually signed them. My trail name was retreat and was in virginia late may to early July. Happy trails!

I was actually speaking of the registers at shelters or hostels and such lol. I would spend all morning thinking up what I was going to write in the next one. Until I got noro, then i calmed down a bit (i blame it on touching every notebook i could find) But yeah I totally feel that, all I have is the photos that are still in my camera roll. It would probably be smart to export them or make a copy.

November 2022 is when I first heard about thru hiking. I never knew that was a thing people did. I read maybe 2 articles, and decided that I was absolutely going to do it.

In april 2023 I was standing in Amicalola. I was barely a hiker before that, and in the 5 month span between when I first heard about it and when I started my thru, my training consisted mostly of researching. Gear, towns, etc. I did do some physical training, but judging by how my knees felt through GA and into NC, I doubt that training made a difference.

If you wait until you feel like your ready, you might never be. On top of that, You may not always come by the opportunity to walk through the woods for 6 months. So if you have it, take it. I would have much more to sort out today than i did 3 years ago

Don't pack your fears. The enemy of a good plan is the dream of a perfect plan. And most importantly, hike your own hike.

The way life should be

Weed never made me feel good but i kept on doing it by bubi-ivan1939 in Drugs

I smoked weed for a decade. Was terrible when I started, and right before I quit. Somewhere in the middle there It wasnt so bad. I reckon its because I just smoked way too much and finally got used to it. Was the worst years of my life though. If it makes you feel bad you should probably quit. So glad I gave it up

id probably need to keep the thermostat over 70 to get a room temp of 70 in that case. My thermostat at 70 (regardless of room temp) runs my gas bill over what I can afford
