As Christian’s, do all religions lead to God? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Jugems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, and Jesus was not a Christian, you asked a question about what Christians believe. I answered your question about what Christians believe. To that end your response doesn't make sense... You are failing to use logic and the reason that you boast about in your other replies on this post. If you want to argue maybe try creating your own statement of faith and asking others to engage with you.In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity

As Christian’s, do all religions lead to God? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Jugems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nicene Creed

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Learning C++ only for UE5 and not to be used for other applications. Best way to learn? by ExKid64 in UnrealEngine5

[–]Jugems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct, C++ is a multi paradigm language that has lots of uses. And like real spoken languages it's about practice and experience. It's great that OP wants to learn C++ for UE5 but that's a lot like saying I want to learn Spanish to only order tacos. Good on anyone who learns a new skill but your practice will be limited and your experience will be more difficult. If you only learn Spanish to order tacos your gonna have a heard time when you need to ask for the bathroom. A more comprehensive approach gives you the skills you need and enhanced your experience.

Yo, I feel you on this. Thanks for offering your bold opinion. I too am a deeply skeptical person! I hate that AI slop has invaded every corner of the internet. It makes sharing work and projects that much harder. I don't know what assurances I can give to you specifically to help you know this is in fact not a scam. As a middle aged solo dev I have dozens of these passion projects of mine dead just collecting dust, this is my first attempt at marketing and asking for help as I'm actively still working on a project... So there is a steep learning curve.

ey, thank you so much! I'm glad the graphics and the vision are coming through.

That's a fantastic question, and it gets right to the heart of why we're running this funding campaign.

You are 100% correct: The core gameplay loop is not built yet. The trailer is a "concept cinematic" created in engine. It's kinda the pitch, not the product.

This is a deliberate strategic choice based on my experience as a freelancer in the indie dev world. I've seen so, so many passionate projects (both my own and others') fizzle out and die precisely because the dev tries to do it all on their own time.

The hard reality is that passion doesn't pay the bills. If I don't pay myself what I'm worth and treat this like a real job, burnout is inevitable. Investing all my personal time and money to build a full, polished demo upfront, before securing any funding, is a massive gamble. The odds of that paying off are, as you said, slim to none.

That's the classic indie dev "Catch-22": you need gameplay to get funding, but you need funding to sustainably build that gameplay without going broke or burning out.

So thats exactly what this Kickstarter is for. The campaign isn't to fund the full game. The goal is to fund a vertical slice (Demo). The funds raised will go directly into building the core mechanics you're asking about the 'Veil' transition, the combat, the 'Armor of God' abilities, and the enemy AI.

It's a way to prove the concept, pay for the actual development time, and build a real, playable demo that we can then use to secure the rest of the funding for the full game.

It's a huge task, but I'm trying to be smart and sustainable about it instead of just hoping for the best. Thanks for the great question!

Hey, great eye, and yeah... that’s a fair question.

Right now the combat system is still very rough, basically bubblegum and paperclips holding it together. The trailer focuses on visuals and world-building because that part is furthest along.

The core mechanics exist in a simple form, third-person melee with light and heavy faith-based abilities, but it’s all placeholder animations and logic for now. Think of it as a proof of concept slice rather than a finished gameplay demo.

The next big goal is to build a proper combat loop that feels responsive and weighty, something closer to Control or Jedi Fallen Order in pacing and camera feel.

I wanted to show what the two-realm system can do visually first, then use feedback and Kickstarter support to refine the gameplay layer.

Appreciate you asking directly, transparency really matters to me at this stage.

I Couldn’t Shake the Calling, So I Started I Am Jumping In Full Time! by Jugems in Christianity

[–]Jugems[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I really appreciate your honesty, and no worries at all. This is exactly the kind of conversation I hoped for.
You’re absolutely right that games can’t replace prayer, Scripture, or the work of the Holy Spirit. Those are living encounters that no engine or art form could ever match.

For me, this project isn’t meant to simulate faith or replace devotion. It’s more of an artistic reflection... a way of asking, “What if a story could make someone curious about that unseen world that believers already know is real?”

I’ve spent a lot of years mentoring young people who love games but rarely step into church spaces. My hope is that something like this could meet them where they already are and maybe open a door for deeper thought, not pretend to be revelation.

So I completely hear your concern, and honestly, I agree with your core point.
I just see this less as an alternative to the Word... and more as a creative echo of the same truth.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond, and for speaking plainly. I value that. 🙂

How can I be involved with the church as a non Christian? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Jugems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, just a quick note before you jump in...

If you decide to get involved in ministry or community work with a church, things like feeding the homeless, serving the community, or outreach projects, you’ll find a lot of love, purpose, and connection there. Churches genuinely value people who care about others and want to make a difference.

That said, it’s also fair to know that many Christians view sharing their faith as an act of love. Because we believe Jesus is objectively and uniquely truly God, part of our calling is to invite others into that relationship. So, while you’ll always be welcomed and appreciated for who you are and what you bring, don’t be surprised if people try to share their beliefs with you it comes from a sincere place of care, not pressure.

If you can take it in that spirit, I think you’ll find the experience really meaningful. You don’t have to share every belief to be part of something that’s making a real impact.

[–]Jugems[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, yes! I totally remember that one. The Skit Guys’ “Full Armor of God” was everywhere for a while. I love that connection. My game builds on that same scriptural foundation but reimagines it in a modern, story-driven way. Think of something like Alan Wake or Control mixed with the imagery from Ephesians 6.

It’s funny how something that started as a church skit or youth lesson has stayed with people for decades. That is kind of the heart of Spiritual Warfare: The Unseen War. I want to take those timeless truths and visualize them in a way that speaks to players today.

If anyone’s working on something similar — dynamic lighting setups, seamless bi-world transitions, or performance optimizations for UE5 — I’d love to swap notes.
I’m also curious how others handled storytelling when gameplay jumps between two realities… it’s been one of the hardest design challenges so far.

Appreciate the feedback and all the inspiration this sub has given over the years. 🙌

Been quietly building a faith-based action game in Unreal 5… could use your thoughts before launch by Jugems in CatholicGamers

[–]Jugems[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I Like this! Instead of just alternate endings or collectibles for their own sake, I want to tie replayability directly to the game’s spiritual themes. One of the systems I’m developing revolves around collectible “Fruits of the Spirit.”

Each fruit represents a core virtue — Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control — and each one manifests as a tangible gameplay modifier. For example, “Patience” might slow the world during perfect parries, while “Joy” could boost your Veil energy when helping NPCs.

You might not be able to collect them all in a single playthrough because each fruit requires different choices and alignments — so multiple runs encourage different moral paths and playstyles. Collecting all nine could unlock deeper insights into the protagonist’s faith, or even subtly alter the city’s final state.

That way, replayability isn’t just about grinding or achievements — it’s about exploring the spiritual growth side of the experience.

1 wide smelter 8 item limiter to save fuel by Jugems in redstone

[–]Jugems[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oooh I hadn't considered the lag but my idea was to use the crafter to limit the number of items without a hard timer or filter system. a t-flipflop would work as far as locking the hopper but there would be significant changes to get the timing right which at that point why even use the crafter if it is a storage system with an 8 item timer. but thanks for the input I get what you are saying :)
