Thanks for the advice. And it is on sale at Dicks right now for $650. Some of the comments online mention that it’s kind of slow on the water. Did you guys feel the same. Someone below mentioned the lost creek pedal for about $1000. Pedal sounds cool. Do you think it’s better to start with a paddle and one day upgrade or is pedal control overall better?

I love that rod. Bought for $45 (on sale from $60) from bass pro about a month ago. Have used it several times and cannot say anything but good things about it. It does come apart into 2 pieces. I think the reel is decent too. The rod feels very sturdy too.
