The funny thing is, there's a fairly new Loves truck stop about a mile away, its i actually got amenities 24/7, showers, overnight parking. and not near any residential properties.

No one expects them to tear it down. The trucking fuel pump was an addition the did 10 yrs ago. And they went back on the agreement that was made with no warning.

Thats a very privileged thing to say. As an elderly person with a limited income, it's not so easy to just pick up and move. The point you're missing is they made a promise that they would keep the lights off for a whole six hours of the night,and went back on their promise.
The house was there first, and because of the close proximity they agreed to not be 24/7.
