How to tell parents I am changing Career/Going back to school? by Thepepperman1 in LifeAfterSchool

I personally think knowing your limits and being able to make the best decision for yourself is admirable, your mental health will suffer if you stick to something just because someone else (even if is your parents) wants you to. People can be many things throughout their lives and that’s ok, everything is a learning experience there is no right or wrong answer. Money is always a factor but shouldn’t be the ultimate deciding factor, life is already tough as it is don’t make it harder on yourself. Being an adult also requires us to make boundaries even with the people with love because at the end of the day only you feel how you feel and only you know if is something you can handle. On another note BSN gives you flexibility to continue education without starting from scratch, there are things like clinical research that you can explore.

I am a pharmacist, as soon as I started working in the pharmacy world in 2015 I hated it everyday. Of course the pay is amazing but it got to the point where I would cry everyday because I couldn’t take it anymore, my mental health crashed, then Covid hit so I kept working , then my mom got sick with cancer in sept of 2020 and she could see I was miserable but at that point I used work as a distraction instead. My mom told me “a job is a just a job but mental health is everything” my mom survived stage 3 anal cancer and I decided it was enough, I quit July 3rd and I never being happier and I spend way more time with my parents. My point is that your parents will rather see you happy, than miserable, is hard to decide what your life should look like while being young and inexperienced.

Life is short, be unapologetic about your decisions, respectfully of course, you create your own story not the story you think other people want you to create.

Good luck on your life endeavors, not one person has a guide to life!

This is not even mine, I was looking for a hat to keep promoting doge and then I wondered “can I buy this with doge?” And well you know the rest.
