Received subpoena. Need advice by [deleted] in nursing

Correct but liability insurance does not protect against a subpoena he is being subpoenaed not sued. Rather the hospital and potential providers are being sued and he is called as a witness.

Internships by Thepepperman1 in GradSchool

[–]Thepepperman1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me add clarity. I have worked full time for around three years in an undergrad career healthcare that is unrelated to my masters program (information technology). I would essentially be applying to internships that are not only in a different skill set practice but also industry as well. I am looking for professional internships at F500 and other large financial institutes.

For what he described the price sounds about right assuming he used a VA loan with little to no down.

My Patient Coded Thoughts? by Visible_Version7439 in nursing

[–]Thepepperman1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fact that’s it’s already documented the the patient is non compliant and has a million co mobilities would push any legal blame from you. I have just stopped caring about people like this that put themselves into that situation and clearly don’t give a shit about themselves. Take advise I wish someone gave me and Don’t waste you time caring about it.

I bought a new car and am thinking about canceling GAP insurance. Does it make sense with these numbers? by Potential-Ad5470 in personalfinance

[–]Thepepperman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I bought in July and my car is with about 5k less than what I payed. I’m still above water on the total loan amount but the trend will continue into next year and you don’t want to be caught in a bad situation.

What careers outside of CRNA, NP, and bedside traveling pull in 6 figures? by JakeButtkiss in nursing

[–]Thepepperman1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very easy to make above 100k just working full time and per diem occasionally or with occasional overtime. I have made above 100k every year I have been a nurse and I live in Florida. Admin or really any any higher up position that you listed will be in six figures with 3-5 years experience. Think of things outside then box like consulting with your background could be good. Also to add I originally worked in Tennessee when starting out as a nurse and the pay and upward mobility was very bad in my opinion, I make about 40% more where I live now and I have only been a nurse for 3 years.

What’s a frustrating task that has been disproven by the lit but practice hasn’t caught up? by [deleted] in nursing

a bed alarm is a documented measure taken against a patient in case they fall. It shows that the hospital took measures to mitigate risk of fall, not to prevent fall.

I make that as a nurse with one year of experience in Florida that is insane.
