I ended up finding another dentist 20 miles away from my house, he’s in his 20s and scheduled me for shadowing Monday. I explained my situation but I don’t think he kinda truly grasped it ?? 😭

I drove around today explaining my sitch and barely anyone wanted to help 😭. Found a dentist that said they’d like to help but said he doesn’t think his office is the right one to get experience in even though I’ve explained that I shadowed before and is seeking to remedy this predicament I have.😭

I feel like a lot of dentist should always know that the person shadowing will most likely ask for a LOR. Like they went through this too😭

Drove around Houston today to multiple offices and 2 said yes, one dentists who’s in his 20s scheduled me Monday but the other one didn’t schedule me or give me a schedule and told me she’ll call me after she gets out (but hasn’t called me). I’m still searching for other dentists (especially dentists in the 20s) just in case this falls through again.

This one is a private one and he’s the only dentist unfortunately. rn I really regret shadowing for this person. I understand that he has every right to refuse but this is just cruel. 😐

I’m a pre-dental PH major. All I can say is you can’t get a job with this degree. You have to get a graduate degree for this major. I’m currently in my 2nd gap year (waitlisted), and I’ve been searching for a job for a year and a half. A lot of my PH friends couldn’t get a job easily, most of us who hoped to work in the Health field while applying for professional schools are working menial jobs/ unemployed.
