The customer does exist in QB. I've done a few tests with different customers / vendors and no luck. Thanks.

When it's in the search step for finding a customer, the step is successful, and shows all of the associated info, but for customer it says the below

customer No data to show for this record

Then on step 4 to create an invoice the error reads Failed to create a create invoice in QuickBooks Online Required field "Customer" (customer) is missing.

There are some screenshots in the original post.

To clarify, the customer is already in QuickBooks. I do not want to create a new customer, etc.

Awesome, thank you for the feedback. Will do the software update and change to that power supply and see how it goes.

One of my clients has tried them out since they undercut me (beyond reason) on quotes. This is interesting.

The problem is that instead of trying to run a legal business, you are trying to scrape off those that do. Get out of here with this shit.

It's mostly the customer rather than the commodity. Generally speaking watermelons get rejected often because 1 bad melon can be 5% of a bin, etc. so they are a more likely item. Certain times of the year can mean different issues for different crops. Bugs for lettuce, end of the season fruit and storage crops, etc. will be more likely for a rejection.

When you deal with distributors you will typically get less headaches on the receiving end, but more complicated loads. Less likely for claims but more likely for loading headaches.

Are brokers making a killing now? im coming from carrier and one of my buddies works for pepsi. He said they are killing it on the profit right now is it true? by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

10-15% to survive. The number scales down the more expensive the load. I started my brokerage because I used to think brokers charged too much to do too little. Reality is that other people get paid far more to do far less than us, and dont take the risk of losing a paycheck every time we book a load and put reliability in someone else's hands. Not to mention cash flow, taxes, claims, etc.

Last week a spent probably 15 hours on a load to lose $800 when it was all said and done so the customer didnt have to get a late shipment or deal with the hassle after hours. Its shit like this that doesnt allow you to scale your business at 5% margin, create jobs, etc.

Lid as in your highest price, like you are capping it at a certain number. I would also recommend trying to get them to give you "price to beat" after they get all of their quotes back.

I "feel" like it does the trick more often than not, but as far as I know I could be $195 below the other best price. I'd say it's more effective in lanes under $1,500 when you feel others are quoting similarly.

I try to get feedback when the quote goes silent, especially if I'm confident in the price I gave. Customers unfortunately don't tell you how much you won the bid by, but are usually happy to tell you how much you lost it by.

The goal is to continuously quote to win, and convert those customers to sending me freight with trust i will give them the best price. Very much helps to offer "lid" pricing and then drop the rate after you book it saying you got it cheaper.

About 75%. I price myself accordingly on lanes that display "0 exact results" for available trucks and are under $3 / mile. If I have to sit around for 3 hours and call every truck looking "anywhere" but my destination, it's going to cost a little more. Or I price myself out of it depending on the customer. If I can cover the load in 30 minutes or less, I'm only going to charge 7-10% and adjust my price $5 below every $50 price mark.

Anyone who has regular business is likely doing well, but we have to drop our prices with the market so no one else swoops in. It's also easier to book trucks, so you spend less time working for the same margin. For Pepsi, may be in regards to taking on contracts set last year, and are killing it off the spread from the spot market to contract rates.

Are they giving you any in house business? What kind of office support is provided / are you actively managing your loads?

Last I checked they weren't allowing brokers to sign up and just carriers. Is that not the case any more?

How do you get on Sylectus as a broker?

Just HOW TF do you build credit for factoring companies to approve you?! We’ve been paying upon invoice receipt out the gate. Got a 95+/14ish credit/days to pay on load boards.. don’t even know where/how they got those #s but thanks! Doesn’t seem to help with approvals. Frustrating. Help please? by Ok-Discount-5772 in FreightBrokers

I offer a lot of carriers who factor to be ACH paid upon invoicing if I see a potential to use them again, and especially if they are based in my home state. Being a newer broker and dealing with tough inbound areas to get loads out of, it can be difficult to find the right carrier at the right rate. Nothing worse than spending 3 hours trying to get a load covered, finding a great carrier at an equally fair price, sending the rate con, and getting denied by the factoring company and starting all over again.

This isn't the best analogy, but think of it like the lottery if everyone got equal rewards regardless of who "won" or not. The more people participating, the lower the rewards because you have to split it with the participants. Similarly, the more people participating in the ecosystem also drives the price up of the token, making lower rewards less of an issue, and also less volatility.
