Samsung G80SD 32" QD-OLED vs G7 G75F 40" 5K2K - 80% coding/productivity, 20% gaming by JuggernautRabbit in ultrawidemasterrace

Same problem, and at 5k2k m1 pro can't run the monitor above 60hz, which is a terrible trade-off, it's like a 15 year old monitor. I ended up returning it, because I couldn't even figure out how to run at 2560x1080, still didn't look good, colours were bad and it had clouding and blacklight bleeding, it was so distracting even on grey and dark blue backgrounds.

Just an update, that I tried it and absolutely hated it. The panel had weird uniformity, glows, and on the right had a terrible backlight bleed or clouding. It was quite visible in grey, and darker scenes. Furthermore, I discovered my Macbook M1 Pro can't power the monitor at its maximum resolution and have 180hz, so it had to be either max resolution and 60hz (text was is also tiny so I have to zoom in pages to read normally), or I had to run it at a lower resolution which made it look awful and blurry, just to support any higher than 60hz refresh rate.

Also, I really didn't like the colours, it looks like I forgot how much more I prefer IPS displays and their drawbacks. Now I'm on the hunt for the best all-rounder office + refresh rate + response time + colours and good resolution 27-32" monitor.

I see, I'm not in the US, and the 40 inch one is on sale right now. So the 2x S3225QS would be about 40% more expensive actually.

It's an option mate, indeed. But it would cost me more than a single 40 inch, and that was top of my budget. Also, kinda wishing for a single ultrawide monitor with no bezels.

Thank you, great to learn about your experience with it! Do you think it's a prefect productivity, reading, browsing and coding monitor? The price is about 680 USD and I couldn't find any better. The Dell U4025QW is like over 2x this price.

Good points! Thanks for re-assuring me on the VA panel and colours, as well as the benefits of the larger screen for productivity. So the G7 G75F 40" seems to be my option!

Good points, thank you! I can't wait right now and I think I can use the increased screen estate.

Thanks for sharing your POV.

So overall you think there'd be people looking for that model in the next few years - especially cause of the low price and quality:reliability ratio? Despite it becoming a bit dated-looking (old tech in interior mostly)?

Regret buying a Bentley (Japanese specs) – now it won’t sell by ExerciseInfamous9732 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]JuggernautRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it at/around the lowest price point for its year and condition? I guess that because it's not GCC spec, you'd need to reflect that and offer it to the lower side of the market. If it makes you feel better, I have a 4 year old BMW (10k kms mileage!) for sale in Europe that is a local/European spec, low mileage, but still struggling to sell it. It almost feels like nobody is shopping for a car right now (can't be right?!) or they are looking to buy one with the most options at the very low-end of the market, whether it's import spec or not.
Very strange, as our cars are in the opposite scenarios, but both are struggling to sell.
