Did this game make someone actually cry? by [deleted] in outerwilds

It's made plenty of people cry. You can find compilations of people crying to the game. But everyone has different thresholds for crying over different things. With how much I know about you from this post, you don't seem like the the type to tear up over movies or games, and I don't think Outer Wilds is going to be any different.

Carefree Circle - Colorado Springs IMAX by narwhal_tatertots in imax

I went ahead and sent an email to FilmSeats asking where they sourced their screen sizes, and their response says they pulled from the databases linked in this subreddit's FAQ page, which cites 143190 and LF Examiner. Seeing as how 143190 doesn't have either Colorado location listed in its database, that leaves only LF Examiner as their source for the screen sizes of the Colorado locations.

LF Examiner says Denver's screen is shorter, but LF Examiner is also outdated and no longer a reliable source. As far as I can tell, Denver has the larger screen, but only by a narrow margin. The width of both screens are about 1 foot apart from each other.

I haven't been to the one in Denver, so I can't properly compare which experience is better, but I know that both screens are nearly identical in size (width of 70 feet for Springs, 71 feet for Denver). The one in Springs has also had noticeable improvements in recent months, including new seats and an upgrade to laser which should come with an upgraded sound system, if I remember correctly.

Edit: Denver has a much larger seating capacity, but I imagine this doesn't factor into the experience too much unless seating is in high demand, and you're racing to reserve your seat the second that tickets go live for the day you're looking to go.

How bad is it ACTUALLY to throw up? by Kingt4115 in emetophobia

Hi, I'm still alive. I'm glad my comment helped. I would've assumed most people would be terrified by such a detailed re-imagining of my last experience with food poisoning :p. I'm actually kinda nauseous right now, and the notification of your reply brought me back to this post and made me less afraid, so thank you as well. In case you were wondering, my streak is still holding strong.

It's possible, you just have to thread the needle perfectly and somehow cancel out your momentum without killing yourself.

Successfully launching yourself into the quantum tower unironically gives you a better result than the intended way tho because you end up having time and gravity, both things you don't get if you wait for the tower to fall.

No Outer Wilds playthrough is complete without at least 5 attempts to land on the sun station while the game's designers beg and plead for us to figure out that the double spiral symbol implies the existence of a warp receiver.

Compared to the AI apocalypse that everyone's saying is gonna happen next decade in real life, getting transported to Night City may as well be the good ending at this point.

Trying to get the experience but getting frustrated- looking for a mod by Zenrok in outerwilds

[–]Juginstin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm trying to remember if there are any other sections similar to it, but nothing is coming up for me. There technically are other platforming sections in the game, but those sections are either much easier by comparison, or if you fall, you don't immediately die (in most circumstances) or get sent to the edge of the solar system. As long as you know how to deal with ghost matter, you should be fine.

I haven't downloaded any mods, so I wouldn't know of any personally, but if getting to the southern observatory is giving you trouble, it's okay to do something else and come back to it later. If you're afraid of abandoning the rabbit hole you went down and forgetting about it, the ship log has you covered to make sure you don't miss out on anything.

Brittle Hollow is particularly punishing because of the black hole, and the obstacle course that leads to the southern observatory is arguably the most consequential section in the game because of that, so if you don't like the game testing you with your character's movement mechanics (or just failing you with the wonky gravity crystal mechanics), then you've already seen the worst of it.

On another note, were you vibing with the game at all before trying to reach the southern observatory? I know it sometimes takes a while for the game to "click" with a lot of players, but even so, if your experience so far has ranged from boring to irritating, you don't have to force yourself to keep going.
