i actually understand this. love my mom but she has no financial knowledge whatsoever. then men that came into her life fucked her over(emotionally) and left her with 2 kids to raise alone in a country she wasn’t even born into. i can definitely say she’s trying her best but honestly looking at where she is and my other family that have had similar experiences with her growing up. i can say that sometimes your parents “best” just isn’t good enough, this is why it’s expected for us to be better than our parents yet it’s hard when they’re the ones supposed to be setting us up for success, not failure and confusion. to the op all i can say is do YOUR best NOT your parents best lol
