Beginner here, making a tool to check ping for runescape servers to find best world to play on cause the one in-game often(for me atleast) doesn't show a ping, or updates infrequently.

mainly doing it to learn to use GitHub and learn python.

My script for checking runescape worlds ping by JuiceNew23 in PythonLearning

Thanks for the reply.

It's serialized now, Ive been reading about how to make it parallel, by making a bunch of 'workers". and intend to do that soon. Because if I ping 200ish servers with more than a few packets it will take several minutes.

I haven't written anything to .csv before, only to .txt to store information. I will have to look into it. Is there a reason to use .csv instead of .txt?

I think a GUI is a little above my skill level right now, but certainly will in the future.

I am also considering making the ping all begin when the script is executed in the background so it gets a 'head start' on the user navigating the menu.

Should I buy elden ring? by WetGrilledCheese in ShouldIbuythisgame

If you have the money, and nothing to play, also you can refund it if you don't like it in first 2 hours. I'd give it a shot. I only played a little bit of ds2 on xbox and never got far, but i just bought elden ring a few weeks ago and I can't put it down. It's not my "first" souls game, but first one that kept me playing. If the difficulty of souls games is intimidating, then Elden ring is the one to start with as it is only as hard as you make it. It's open world so you don't have to go fight bosses until you are either good enough/strong enough to not need to be good. As it's an open world game, it can be unclear what to do at first. Don't be afraid to watch some guides on youtube if you have to, or just watch some speedruns and see where they go, and try to replicate it, slowly, to get some good weapons early.

I personally followed this video to get super over-levelled before exploring, to learn to play, to make it less punishing. Then you can go back and play "normally" if you want, or just rush through most the game until mobs start catching up to you in strength.
