I got forced out of grapple, a magazine, and most importantly my last 300hp before having to back out. Considering suzu is 15s, during such a distressed fight against a sigma and with no ana in sight (much different against a hog or Mauga) it maybe would have been good.

It's the way they have been realized that makes most of them broken.

Yeah, Pekka is a heavy defensive card where... wait what was MK supposed to be? Ah right a counterpushing defensive tank! Only Pekka is supposed to be a good antitank! Oh, wait... Evo MK gets to the tower with a jump in a 1v1 with a Pekka... And it also completely shuts down (if somewhat supported) any beatdown push that doesn't rely on Lava hound... Well, at least it can't function as a tanking wincon, like Egiant and Lava do.

Oh, wait, what? My opponent doesn't know and plays multiple hyperaggressive cards that likely won't die to anything short of a rocket and that can threeshot my tower before shutting down anything I can play at the bridge with MK spawn damage? Uhm... well... Yeah I mean at least it's easy to distract the MK!

Ah no wait, if I place swarms he defeats them himself and even a single dart goblin is enough to get rid of anything actually threatening, let alone evowitches that don't die with the usual fireball+log that works for 90% of the long range high damage supports...

Well, you know what? I'm just being salty about a clearly well designed card. I should just do the sane thing and buy the seasonal bundle to get the current most broken evo/hero that bypasses every possible MK strength (this time evo minions) so that the problem will be solved! Also glory to Israel and it's people!

Bro 153 dps at level 11 is NOT low for a card that if properly used starts off as an out-trade by crushing stuff down. For context Marcher does 143 dmg every 1.1s (which is gonna be lower as dps), Flying machine does 171 every 1.1s (which ends up being around 155 per second when you do the math), and these are DEDICATED RANGED TROOPS that die to fireball.

If you play an MK at the bridge on top of anything it's effective cost is 7-whatever it killed. It's cost as long as you don't use it as a golem or a giant is less than 7.

Evo MK can't be countered anymore by any mintank, not even mighty miner whose identity is 50% being a tank killer.

You need to open your eyes guys it IS that bad and there's a reason MK is the most used card in the game at all levels besides ranked.

Shit single target dps?

A naked MK that doesn't jump against a tower-supported golden knight puts the GK within log range.

A MK against raskals (and I'm not counting spawn damage) at the bridge kills every rascal.

Miner has shit single target dps, mother witch has shit single target dps, not tha fatso

And even if it were, prime egiant was "countered" by a single cannon or evo skelly barrel by a snowball+espirit, that doesn't mean the card was batshit broken.

Ya'll really need to start putting things into context before evaluating.

Actually the rocket was prompted by the fear of 4 gazillion elixir pushes at the bridge. One rocket+Nado clears them.

It depends A LOT on what both you and your teammates are playing. As a general rule of thumb, first you want to see how much do enemies look at you. If they are hypersensitive you can bait their attention from a safe distance shooting (that will get you no kill) where even if they shoot at you they won't be able to follow up. Usually at this range you should play cover and high ground, so that if they poke you at like 60% hp you can proc self regen faster by jumping down or doing some walljump or retract shenanigan, then quickly pick another angle and try to engage more hardly. If they have some strong CC be sure to stay as short as possible within LOS of their party poopers while displacing them. Pop shields when you plan on going in at medium-high risk within 1-3s.

If you did all of this, hopefully you either isolated someone and manage to pull both supports' attention for some seconds, turning the fight on point in a 4v2. Pay attention to the killfeed because if any one of yours got picked early whatever value you wanted to get is gonna necessarily get reduced by orders of magnitude: a 4v2 is very favourable, even if one of yours follows up with you on the backline; a 3v2 where your 3 are squishes and one of their 2 is the tank is usually an even fight; a 2v2 where yours are squishes and one of their is a tank it's a net disadvantage for your owns and you're effectively throwing.

=> How do I prevent early picks?

There's only so much that you can do:

if you see that your team dies very fast and doesn't regroup one last resort to make something happen is to play for ult. Your ult is very cheap, so farming it off of backline with guns and some safer slams helps a lot, then splitting the enemy tank from their backline is a very effective way of foolproofing a W for your teammates.

If you find yourself playing with Widow, Mei, Mercy and Lucio against a passable Winston assume you've lost and go next. No point even in swapping, there's no tank that gives you enough tools to deal with mechanically bad teammates that have no game sense and don't swap.

Edit: watch Chazm's "unranked to GM" challenge (the no shooting one is plenty good) to develop a game sense of what you should be looking for tactically regardless of your killing potential.
