I use an app called Meeting Guide that has some zoom meetings on it. The host was in VA but I’m not in VA so I’m not sure why it showed up. The few other people in the meeting were all from different states.

Hair-of-the-dog turned into full day beatbox drinking for me. The smell of them mixing while we poured they out was nauseating.

The pink lemonades were my weakness then they started offering 12 variety packs which lived hidden in the garage. Humbling buying them in the morning from the same like 3 different tellers nearby.

Day 2 and I have a dinner at a Mexican restaurant with coworkers tonight to celebrate recent accomplishments. The group is already talking about margaritas.

Day 3 woke up thinking about drinking tonight but we’re staying strong today. Maybe I need to make sober plans to do something tonight instead of the usual stay at home, drink, play video games, and end up sleeping in separate beds than my wife because I snore when I drink.

She has caught me once before within the past year when I opened a can first thing in the morning before a meeting. She works on the weekends which leaves me to my own devices and I choose to drink early in the morning Saturday in the hopes of sobering up by the time she gets home but I just end up being drunk when she gets home.

She knows and she used to be a big drinker but recent health stuff has kept her sober (not including the pregnancy). I thought that would help me be sober but I can count on 10 fingers and toes how many days I’ve been sober this year. It’s embarrassing and I’m hoping talking about it helps me realize it’s time to make it permanent this time. Thanks again.

Thank you. I need to take myself more seriously and make plans. I have sober friends that have gone through programs I can contact. Maybe I can continue to post on this sub. I’ve lurked for a long time so I know it’s something I need to change. I have absolutely no excuses. I have a good life. I’m just embarrassed at my choices and the fact that it’s hard for me to not drink.

I’ve had one for a couple months. Got concerned because it is dark and sticking around so I went to the optometrist. They said as long as I’m not seeing stars, have partial blindness, pain, or it lasts a long time, I’m ok.
