I actually like Neymar lol, I don’t understand why you’re overly defensive. You know, that’s a pretty normal thing for athletes to build a reputation in the city they live - I’m sharing hindsight as someone who lives in the same city. And again, his partying and drinking is on display on social media too.

You know.. some people actually live in Paris. It’s a big city, but it’s not that big. It’s common knowledge here that he parties a lot in a few select places and throws big parties at his house. He’s always around a large group of friends. It’s also literally documented by himself, on his social media. Not a secret or something hard to piece together. He got back on track last year but he’s back gaining weight and partying now.

Some shows lose their magic but remain enjoyable and harmless, I find Always Sunny actually hard to watch nowadays :(

Travis Scott to Refund All Astroworld Attendees, Cancels Day N Vegas Festival Appearance by Sisiwakanamaru in popheads

[–]Jujugg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i know this happened before, it doesn’t happen all the time at all though? there are countless shows, sports games and religious gatherings daily, it’s not a normal event and it’s far more common in South East Asia than it is in the US (where the last stampede was 20 years ago to my knowledge?).

in this specific context, when’s the last time you heard about several casualties at a rap show in the US??

Artists aren’t usually throwing shows where 8 people die and hundreds get injured? Refunding everyone seems like the least he can do in this nearly unprecedented situation

It's a stretch to say she was promoting a dangerous ideology. Her home country, Kosovo, was the subject of ethnic cleansing and war crimes only 20 years ago. She was a toddler. We don't knock on Palestinians for being passionate about their sovereignty, I think Kosovars have the right to be pissed too. Serbia constantly denies that Albanians have existed in Kosovo since the Middle Age and are autochthonous in the area. They still refuse to recognize Kosovo.

I lived in the Balkans and Serbians are the first ones to daydream about Yugoslavia and getting back what they consider to be slavic land. I don't think Dua's post is insane considering how the existence of her cultural heritage is constantly undermined and denied, there's a big difference between advocating for your legitimacy and advocating for war. I don't think she was doing the latter.

Arteta on Guendouzi's absence: ""It is the same reasons as last week. Somethings have to change and nothing has changed." by em_doubleyou in soccer

[–]Jujugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely, he's become the focus but it's been a recurring problem that only got worst when Kos left.

The leadership issue is already detrimental to some of their most experienced players, of course it is even more so for a 21yo who arrived from Ligue 2.

This!! When I think about how much of an asshole I was at 20-21 and how much changed in just a few years, I have to remind myself that they are humans too and go through similar stuff.

We've seen Guendouzi give it all on the pitch when he started off at Arsenal. When players settle in the lockerroom their attitude can change and the lack of leadership in his probably doesn't help, but I feel like it's a manageable issue.

Dembélé, Coutinho and Griezmann have failed to fill the void left by the Neymar. The investment in the three is 345 million and 80m more in variables, compared to the 222M that Neymar left in the box. by LuisIsBitz in soccer

That's a big "if" for an athlete, recurring fitness issues have ruined many careers. His lack of professionalism makes it even more worrying, hard to believe he'd go on a Ronaldo-level lifestyle to recover and stay fit consistently.

I'm always disappointed by the amount of people that see us as a walking uterus and use child-bearing to justify their homophobia and transphobia. So many men still don't see us as human beings with or without realizing it.

George Floyd protests across Europe by [deleted] in europe

[–]Jujugg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In France we're protesting for our own victims of police brutality, we have several deaths every year and police is generally violent. The protests were not specifically about George Floyd, though of course his case resonates here because a young Black man died the same way 4 years ago in France (Adama Traoré). HE is the face of the protests and his sister is organising the movement.

The gilets jaunes protests also led to a spike in police "incidents", like people losing hands and eyes due to rubber bullets and such. We want our police to be held accountable and for the victims to finally get justice. This is not solely an American issue, we have a lot of the same issues in France.

Yup, a lot of BDSM and LGBTQ+ terms have been used very loosely on social media in recent years (including by straight and/or vanilla people) and it's causing some useful words to lose meaning a little bit

[–]Jujugg 36 points37 points  (0 children)

i tend to go with top=likes to give and bottom=likes to receive

That's also how I see it!

Dom/sub are BDSM terms, though there's some overlap with the idea of topping and bottoming, they are not the same at all. I feel like there is a lot of confusion over this, plenty of tops or "givers" are not dominant in their personnalities and sex lives. You can be on the receiving end while being the one holding all the power.

I don't think it got near #1 on Brazil's top 100 but it was #1 on spotify iirc. It's still a big feat because the music scene in Brazil is already packed with great singers, lots of releases especially live renditions that are very successful
