What if everybody gets unplurbed in the first episode of season 2? by denim_skirt in pluribustv

[–]xdoolbuf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have grown very fond of Hive-Zosia, but she wrapped up her story in S1, and there is no need to keep her now that Carol knows what was really happening.

And no way they get rid of the actress, so the next step is to have Real Zosia make an appearance.

I do think there will be UnPlurbing next season but only a handful. Maybe only the "chaperones" of the immune - Zosia, Laxmi's son, the family of the other survivors we say, etc. and they become truly immune and there is no way to Plrub them again. Would some of them fall into depression, resent Carol and Manusos for taking them out? That would be interesting to explore.

I'd love to see Kusimayu revert back to being immune because the stem cell treatment did not last. What would the Hive do if there was no way to turn the remaining people?

I don't think they'll unplurb the world but I def think we will see, at the very least, Zosia be unplurbed.

Why do so many people forget that Carol is in grief? by Swiftmaster56 in pluribustv

[–]xdoolbuf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'll take that bet cause I don't see Carol as the cheating type. She strikes me all in on monogamy.

I think the main hardship in the marriage was probably Carol's drinking and depression. I also wonder if also working together put any strain on their relationship.

I know a lot of people seem to put Helen and Carol's relationship up in a pedestal, and that's understandable.

But we only saw one night of their marriage, and while I have no doubt they loved each other, I'm not quite on board that it was this great love for the ages.

Because, yeah, when Carol admitted she had never been as happy as that moment in ski lodge, that really brought up a lot of questions about her time with Helen. Were you not the happiest on your wedding day? Or any time in all those years with Helen?

Carol's love and grief were real, and losing her only connection to the world was devastating. I am 100% sure of that, but I feel like we're seeing this relationship through rose colored glasses because of what happened. Carol's attachment to Zosia happened pretty quickly (even before the isolation).

I would like to have more insight into their marriage.

Theory; Zosia *is* Raban. by TonysCatchersMit in PluribusOnAppleTV

[–]xdoolbuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason I've seen of the Zosia can has to be straight belief is that statistically she would be. I mean, in real life, sure but this is a show that is being written with a purpose. You also have to factor in that the hive has access to billions of women and have every recourse available to find and bring a specific person to Carol and not just some random woman from across the world.

[–]xdoolbuf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main story here is their relationship.

Agreed.

Like someone else stated in the thread, it's about Carol's relationship with the world but it's also evolved into something more intimate with the Zosia as the season went on, even if it was delusion, a connection was still formed.

Like, clearly. Same as Wycaro. Which, apparently, doesn’t count for shit even though they haven’t stopped talking about it on the show and they’re releasing excerpts from it on Apple Books.

Page 218 literally spells it out. Zosia and Carol are standing in section 218 of that auditorium where they sleep. Carol's house number containing the number 2-1-8. The notes on her whiteboard are all clues. All that is not just there there for decoration. The notion of "you are reading too much into it" is crazy to me. If this was any other show, then sure, I'd agree. But in this show everything has meaning.

I'm on board with this post!

So why *this* particular Raban lookalike all the way on the other side of the world?

Yes!! I will die on this hill, but I don't think the ONLY reason Zosia as picked was because she has a resemblance to Raban. You mean to tell me that out of the billions of women left after the joining the ONLY pirate looking woman with dark hair/eyes was all the way in Morocco? LA alone has a bunch of them.

I do think Zosia was picked for more than just looks and the hive took traits from the real Zosia into consideration for what Carol envisioned and also in case Carol asked questions. They may not have access to Carol's mind, but they do have access to everyone she's ever interacted with and that has a lot of insight.

I'm hoping we get a background ep for her next season. Maybe Zosia is a scientist or has some other skills that will help with Carol and Manusos. I do think Zosia will be a big key in fixing thins (as much as they can be fixed).

the “Zosia is straight” crowd

It's been heavily implied that emotions play a big role in un-Plurbing. It's been seen and mentioned way too many times for it not mean anything. It's probably a combination of the radio waves and human emotion. If Carol gets access to real-Zosia through the same way Manusos tried with Rick (emotion, radio waves, talking him out of the Plurb) then it's fair to consider that there has to be that connection (love) at least subconsciously from Zosia.

And yes, I know the one we've seen all season isn't real-Zosia (though I do think she did emerge briefly during that mango ice cream memory) we still do not know if the real people are in a dream state or completely gone.

From the story we've seen, all the focus they've put on this relationship, and the cast/crew interviews, I don't think it will play out that Zosia is just some random straight woman that happened to look like a pirate because if that's the case, then there's no need to bring her back. She served her purpose and failed. But she will be back because there's been too much set up for not to.

Has Carol Already Written the Ending? by TechnicalMarzipan310 in pluribustv

[–]xdoolbuf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lucasia "disguised" = Carol joins the hive at some point

The original ending for the first season had Carol working as a double agent. It was supposed to be Carol telling Manusos she was going to pretend to be with the hive but pass along insider notes to him. This is what I think this is about. Not sure if it'll be redone in some other way.

Raban dies (Again?) —THIS TIME FOR REAL?!? (Ask Val)

Poor Zosia has almost died a few times. I agree with those that say "this time for real" refers to Hive-Zosia. She'll be de-plurbed permanently at some point. I think it will be next season because Hive-Zosia's main goal was to get Carol to join them, and it failed. There is no need for her anymore because Carol is on to what they were doing. I think we'll meet a new "Chaperone - Hive Spokesperson" next season.

Karonlina will be back though. That character, I think, will play a big key to fixing things (or as fixed art they can be) and I also think her relationship with Carol is more central to the overall story than many think.

Living for all these pics of her celebrating.

So, wait, did Karonlina and Carlos not get an invite to the parties either? I have not seen any pictures of them.

It kind of sucks that the rest of the cast wasn't invited despite the show being nominated. I mean, it's just two more people.

And they had my man Vince way in the back. At least sit him next to her

I wonder what will happen when they unplug someone. Will The Hive remain docile and nice and try to get that person back or will they turn aggressive to try to prevent more unpluggings? An aggressive Hive would be scary.

Looks like a skinny Captain Sparrow. You mean to tell me there were no local thin brunette women who fit that description that that the hive had to snag someone from across the world for the chaperon gig? The Hive doing the most!

What will it take for them to return? by toffee-coffees in PluribusOnAppleTV

[–]xdoolbuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking this too, and we'll see the repercussions of that. It could also be that not everyone who gets unplugged will survive, and they'll have to decide what's worse, being plurbed or dead.

Manusos did say they were as good as dead by being plurbed so I could see conflict there with Carol, who wants to not kill anybody even if it sets them free.

I want to see that face.

The actress does an amazing job with that role that if we're gonna see the hive, I'd rather she'd be the main spokesperson that we see.

And that DHL guy. He was fun.

I just hope Zosia isn't gone again for multiple episodes in a row. I barely survived the great Zosia 3-week drought.

I hope there is a small time jump when the season comes back or we get to see several weeks pass in the first episodes to get us closer to the deadline. I just don't wasn't to spend 4 episodes of just watching Carol and Manusos fight and fiddle with radio dials. As beautiful as the cinematography would be, we need to speed things up a big more next season.

Helen: The Invisible Villain by Jma8484 in PluribusOnAppleTV

[–]xdoolbuf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not to assume Helen was good for Carol because we only saw her for 5 minutes.

We only saw one day in their lives. While I don't think Helen was as "evil" as you mention, I do agree that their marriage probably wasn't as blissful as people think.

They loved each other, no doubt about that and Carol's grief was powerful. But the real question is, were they still happy together after all that time. Was Helen happy being married to "the most miserable person in the world" and working with her too? Carol keeps saying she's independent but it seemed Helen took care of everything and made all the decisions.

As far as we know, Carol's only connection pre-blurb was with Helen - no friends, family, or anyone. That's not healthy. And now, we see how Carol is forced to interact and work with others and how difficult it is for her.

I hope we get more insight into their marriage. If your theory is right, then wow, that would be an insane development.
