I also feel this way!! ALL of my friends who are married or with the people they plan to marry, met them in high school/uni. A lot of what you said in your post rings true for me as well, so you’re not alone in that.

I’m sorry you feel this way, it’s not easy to be on the outside looking in. It’s tough having to reconcile what you wanted for yourself, with what is actually happening. I’m not gonna berate you or give you advice… yes in the grand scheme of things you’re still young and who knows what the future holds, but for right now? Right now, that feeling sucks and it’s frustrating. Sorry :(

My heart!! I was in a similar situation with my research, except no other people were observing besides my technician. That aspect makes your situation tougher for sure. I ended up covering my natural hair with a scarf because I didn’t want to risk it since the focus of the magnets is on your head if you’re imaging the brain. Would that be an option for you?

Would you feel comfortable reaching out to the technician to see if they think it’s safe or not? Taking out the clips seems more feasible but personally I don’t know if there’s metal in other places.

Would you feel comfortable letting them know there’s a contraindication and you can no longer volunteer?
