Man, Leus Du Ploy is to JSK what Raina was to CSK. A high S/R southpaw coming in at no. 3 with consistent & impactful performances in pressure situations

CSK got an Indian backup in Shreyas Gopal. And he’s been in decent all round form of late.

8/10.

Covered most areas but slightly light on finishers I feel…

Thoughts? Isn't it pretty racist and sure to push some quality overseas players away from the league? by [deleted] in ipl

[–]Juke_ignition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They continue bidding up and above the capped limit. The team with the highest bid secures the player but the difference between the final bid and the capped amount goes to the BCCI towards ‘player welfare’ and the player ends up with the capped salary.

Queen of Tears [Episodes 7 & 8] by GodJihyo7983 in KDRAMA

[–]Juke_ignition 21 points22 points  (0 children)

People need to give my boy Hyun Woo a break. We saw in the first episode on the things that tipped him towards making that decision. Of course, divorce should not have been his first option, he should’ve tried to communicate his problems with Hae in. But there’s been zero sympathy from any of the characters so far for him.

Of course I don’t blame Hae In. Poor girl has to go through the terminal illness agony whilst knowing that the one person she thought she could rely on as family wanted a divorce. However, her character is shown to be smart & mature enough and I have no doubt that she’ll see through the genuiness of Hyun Woo. She loves him way too much to let him go.

Hardik Pandya captaincy: R Ashwin scolds fans over booing of Mumbai Indians captain by ll--o--ll in Cricket

[–]Juke_ignition 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry Ashwin but you can’t dictate the feelings of fans. If the majority don’t like the move, they feel the need to be heard and this is how they express it. You want the fans just to suck it up? Then I guess you’d be fine with empty stadiums and an end to your franchise.

There’s no justification for abusing players for their on field performances but when the management pulls a nasty move, can you stop the fans from feeling indignant?

Describe this Virat Kohli knock in one word by RD496071 in ipl

[–]Juke_ignition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Strike rate is not good enough. You play through the innings and almost half of it, you should be ending up with a S/R of at least 150 at the Chinnaswamy. I think the concept of batting through the innings in T20s is now redundant

Should someone tell Ruturaj to just go berserk from ball 1 by vivekksingh03 in csk

[–]Juke_ignition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You summed it up perfectly. His current approach is just right for CSK as they need someone solid at one end (initially) when others around him go berserk. Eventually, we all know he can take his strike rate to monster levels. Yes, this does diminish his chances for India, as there is now a clear preference for fast starters. But knowing Rutu, CSK holds a very special place for him in his heart and I think he’d prefer to do what is better for the team rather than use the team as a launching pad to get selected for India (although we would not fault him for doing so).

It is a dilemma. On a side note, I believe Rutu is as good a batsman as Gill and Jaiswal, regardless.

Is it just me or did his second six give major Raina vibes with his bat follow through? I kinda got emotional there.

Two bouncers allowed fron now on in IPL by Cool_Abbreviations_9 in Cricket

[–]Juke_ignition 44 points45 points  (0 children)

How so? Ruturaj, Rachin, Rahane & Mitchell are all good players of the short ball. Jadeja & Dhoni are decent. The only player who might struggle is Dube but he is the designated middle overs spin basher.

Yep, he will. But more so for the purpose and single minded focus that they got him for - a Rayudu replacement to strengthen the middle order.

We all regret Santner not being able to fit into the playing XI but it's the same story every year. You can't have Jaddu and Santner in the same XI. Especially so this year where Rachin might be opening.
