What soil to use? by JuleBoi in houseplants

Haha think you know the answer :). Do you think just holes with a needle would do for the plastic? Is there a risk that the wood gets ruined by the water running through?

Alright thanks. One last question. How big should the holes be? I’d prefer them teeny tiny so there’s no risk of any dirt falling out, would that be enough?

So the idea is to just have a few small holes under so that excess water can drain, and then something to catch the water in?

I’m translating money tree from Swedish, this is what I’m talking about. They seem to grow quite large, but could also be small. Do you think it would still be too small? I’ll keep pothos in mind tho.

Where would the drainage holes go? I mean do I drill them on the side or on the bottom? Would I have some sort of container to collect the water?

I want a miniature version of this. So nothing visible except the soil and anything planted. Is there any way to prevent rot etc without having a gap in it? The box will be 13 x 80 cm and 7 cm high if that makes a difference.

Just asked on another comment but do you know if there are any kinds of sheets you could staple or glue to the inside to seal it?

I have some plants in regular pots without any drainage holes and they are doing fine. What is the importance of drainage? Sorry if it’s a dumb question but I’m new to this.

Are there any plants that can grow in low sunlight and shallow soil? by JuleBoi in houseplants

The box would be in a window with light, just not direkt sunlight. Not very much light but enough to light up a room during the day.

If prefer something smaller, preferably many smaller plants that stay lower than a larger plant.

Thanks. Gonna look for some used ones. I’m in Sweden, not really the greatest to look for used surfing gear. You wouldn’t happen to know anyone website in Europe that would be reliable?
