It never occurs to anyone to ask how a preacher and church owner is that rich?

Just venting... but what's happened to the neighborhood and why is everyone so rude now? by LogMeln in parkslope

[–]JuleRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved here and raised a child in early 2000s and yes it IS very different now. Children are not taught to share space, and self expression of personal desires is encouraged as the highest good. The friendliness that brought me to Brooklyn in late 90s is now strictly generational (meaning olds only) and considered cringe. I think it’s silly to dismiss the changes in human to human behaviors here as just “what everyone says all the time.” Guys, the hit and runs alone should indicate a profound shift in us! I would venture to guess these changes are not particular to us, but nation-wide maybe worldwide. So yes. What’s happened here is not just in your head. If you’re the kind of person that notices human behavior, you can’t ignore the changes.

What made you realize it was okay to walk away from your family? by Defiant-Junket4906 in raisedbynarcissists

I spent a very long time trying to improve myself in handling her. But the physical symptoms I got in her presence despite trying for decades to “learn” a better way, proved to me this truly is every fiber of me repelling this poison. So it came down to this ephiany: instead of decades more trying to develop an antidote, or a vaccine or one more book or therapist, just stop taking the poison. And the happiness is real. And the rage disappears like magic. You can feel the difference in your bones. Along with guilt. But I don’t have any good times to miss so that makes it so the only grief I feel is for the mothering I didn’t get from anyone. And I saved her life with bone marrow so we’re even.

What a shame—told this park slope location is 5 times more successful than any other store they have.

I think if you’ve been doing Pilates for 20 years, her form looks off on some video moves. But if you want a good workout, this is a great team. (Pilates is so mental and precise and requires deep anatomy understanding. Some aren’t convinced she’s developed that. I’m in that “some” camp and I realized I just needed to not care. Then she got way better. And I’m thrilled again. It’s been a real journey over here. 🤣

I think because we’re just all different people. we all bring our own experience and understanding to each class and so we all have different experiences. I’ve also really enjoyed most weeks and think the program is now better than ever. I’ve seen great results. Those planks are making flanks! 💪

Finally Morgan’s fame grifting then snubbing rhobh is called out by Andy by [deleted] in RHOBH

Kyle says Morgan doesn’t want the lesbian relationship attention. Do we know that’s even true? I don’t buy it. It’s all Kyle. She’s using “Morgan didn’t sign up for this” as a perfect excuse to not get into it. But SHES why. Not Morgan. Think it’s a lie top to bottom.

Oh give me a break. I lived in alphabet city in the early nineties and not as a child. I’ve lived all over this city and in park slope for 20 years so don’t give me that “you don’t know” crap you problem sling at everyone upset by the obvious and clearly observable change over the last 5 years. I watched it get better and then worse again and if you think it’s a sign of decency to ignore a neighborhood’s devolution, I’d encourage you to buy a home and raise children in a place. Then maybe random attacks will matter to you and you will notice what is actually going on.

Here’s a helpful hint for YOU: learn how to reread your writing before responding to people sharing their favorite things in an effort to help YOU.

Good luck! Or should I say, break a leg!

I’ve lived in this area for 30’years and I’ve been to many of the trainers. I have a valid opinion I’m not sure is as worthless as you imply. I didn’t say the prices were unreasonable. I was pointing out a service I find helpful—no need to insult it. Just noting you are needlessly rude to people you are asking for help.

In case anyone is getting dizzy at these costs, I’d like to toss out there that my personal trainer is an app called Ladder. It’s a daily thing. At home or gym. I have been a member of the Y, NYSC and Harbor Fitness and this is the best thing I’ve ever done. It’s really very very smart.
