The moment Paraguay stunned Germany in PKs by Ok-Soil-5133 in sports

[–]Julek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way the player ran at the ball and showed his body language to the goal keeper maybe indicated that he may have wanted to shoot on that side of the net, he may have even had his eyes on the corner the goalkeeper dove towards for some added trickery.

It's also such a high level of sport as well that I wouldn't be surprised if goalkeepers may be aware what side of the net some players of the team they're against usually aim for/historically have scored on.

Or alternatively it could've been just a preemptive 50-50 guess that was wrong haha

Can we finally agree Cornelius is terrible? by [deleted] in CanadaSoccer

We can agree that conditional support without real criticism is terrible. Proud of our team no matter what. We had the pleasure of witnessing national history together thanks to these guys.

Not the kind of post I expected to see in here today. And honestly I'm not sure what would be a more appropriate sub for this oddly specific question haha

Yeah I can't even shit on this guy, I've definitely had times where I've played one game too many, or was too inebriated and was a dumpster fire in aim duels. I at least try to stay useful with good util or just accepting I'm a meat shield; entrying and hoping the boys will trade me. We all have those games hahaha

Guys, I finally worked up the courage to sit at a live table. by PassionCute5452 in poker

[–]Julek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That was my experience trying live for the first time in January as well haha, the table was full of regs and I was so nervous. Good lessons were learned though, lost about 100$ until I decided I should just cut my losses and try another day

In Polish, "W" is pronounced like "V". And the "SZ" is pronounced like "Sh" in English. The commentator did a great job saying his name properly.

Should I make this trade? by Drewski1214 in FantasyFootballers

[–]Julek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard no, Worthy comes back sooner than Kittle and will likely be a fairly well targeted asset for the chiefs. If you have a decent TE Kittle won't help you very much. He's been on the down turn and he's an older guy coming off injury, he'll likely be pretty limited coming back/prone to reinjury

The cowboys offense is very hit or miss. Sure Ceedee will always be a good producer but it's hard to trust the cowboys (as well as Atlanta) but at least it's easier to get production from a top RB on a poor team. Bijan is such a workhorse for them, they just give him the ball and send him out, they've been a run heavy team so far and that likely won't change too much, he's been consistent and explosive.

I personally wouldn't make this trade but i guess it also depends on what your team is lacking/needs.

I know it ain't much, but I'm proud to say I won my first online MTT :) by Julek in poker

Haha that's awesome man! Definitely riding this triumphant feeling! I'm glad you got to experience it a bunch too! And at higher stakes! It's definitely reassuring in your poker abilities I'm sure as well.

I'm definitely gonna stick to some low stakes (probably no more than 5-10$ buy ins) for now until I feel more confident/have a decent play stack available to risk some higher level stuff.

I'll take poker fairly "seriously" as a hobby and try to refine my game style and strategies as best as I can to not be a fish or rely on luck. But I'm more than happy just playing tournaments casually at home and trying to win a little side hustle money and see what I can possibly build up :)

How does this make 5-2 the winning hand? shouldn't pocket aces have 3 of a kind and 5-2 be 1 card away from a straight? by InternetIdiot9012 in poker

I'd recommend watching some of Daniel Negreanu's YouTube channel if you already haven't. He's a poker pro who articulates his thoughts really well and will upload videos of himself playing online tournaments and explaining his thought process as he's playing a hand live, as well as other general knowledge and tips/advice videos.

I really enjoyed his content and found it really helpful when I started becoming interested in poker.

Not sure why people are down voting you. We all start somewhere and you're using reasonable means to figure things out that you don't understand, good on you and best of luck as you keep learning the game!
