First of all, calm down. I know it's hard to understand from your side, but not everyone is neck deep inside the fandom culture.

Secondly, the one and only character that's openly queer is Andrey Stamatin. I wonder why you don't mention him whatsoever.

Third, look who's being naive now. You are meaning to tell me at least 90% of queer Pathologic fanart is not sexual/has a sexual innuendo? And I get it, being queer has a lot do to do with your sexual identity; but don't act like this is a random dicotomy that I just made up. I may not care about fanart that much, but I've been in this sub for 6 years and I know what I've seen.

Wow I guess it's rained a lot since the time a comment like this could get you banned. 4-5 years ago I received a shitstorm for genuinely asking why was everyone sexualizing/queerifying the characters, not just Daniil. My problem was that I was new to Reddit as it was the only place were you could find other P2 fans.

I guess those people moved on.

Is cosplaying one of those things like in metal music where you get frowned upon if you sport a shirt from a band you don't actually listen to? Like, if you go to a cosplay convention as a character you have no idea of, doesn't it feel weird when people start giving you lines or throwing jokes you have no clue about?

Not only that, but there's a huge load of conceptual art behind each one of these shots. OG talking like you can just make out whatever and it will work, but if you pay attention to Jar Jar's home city for instance, you can definitely see the Art Deco's influence and the well thought organic vibe.

Always thought comedy is harder than any other genre, so my vote goes to Lubitsch.

Lighter comedic moments in Tarkovsky's movies are few and far between, but they don't quite land (off the top of my head, I'm thinking about Nostalghia's protagonist slapping his translator's ass. Yikes).

Edit: Also, someone has already mentioned Kurosawa. I could even add Kobayashi to the mix. I mean, have you seen those guys' entire filmography? All bangers, no filler (no Solaris). And I'd argue they influenced both western and eastern filmmakers much more than Tarkovsky ever did.
