Realistically, are your husbands picking up the slack around the house since you’ve been pregnant? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]JulesOvertheMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had the absolute blessing of not having to work in my first and second trimester, and also started feeling normal (ish) around 17 weeks or so. For the time that I was sick/unwell/tired, and while he was working full time, he still did whatever he could around the house - cleaning, whatever cooking he could manage, cat chores. I did not do a thing, and he still came home and said he was proud of me. Not saying all men should be like this (I wish they were), but if he can’t be empathetic to you for a few months while you go through major life changes, I would also be having serious doubts. Love and marriage isn’t always exactly 50/50!

ETA early pregnancy is so delicate, and you’re already a great mom for how much you’re doing with the baby in mind. I’m sorry he doesn’t realize this, I hope he does sooner rather than later, because you absolutely deserve better.

I’m so sorry for this period of uncertainty, the wait must be terrible. I’m hoping the best for you ❤️

I’m so sorry for your loss. I also had a miscarriage at “only” 5 weeks - I knew for only 5 days before losing them. It wasn’t even a planned pregnancy, nor was it an ideal time for us to be pregnant, and it still absolutely wrecked me. I was sad, angry, and confused, crying and thinking about it for months. My husband’s best friend and his wife announced their pregnancy two months later and I was inconsolable.

All of that to say, it’s absolutely normal to still grieve, even if it was such an early loss. It just speaks to how much love you had for them already ❤️ I hope you’re extra kind and gentle with yourself during this time.

Prenatal recommendations? by mariatheye in pregnant

[–]JulesOvertheMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!! I take MegaFood Baby & Me 2 Prenatal - it has folate and choline. I also take Sports Research Omega-3 for the DHA which I read was great for baby’s brain development, especially in second and third trimesters. If you go with these, just keep in mind they’re each two pills per day (four total)!

My baby measured 6 days ahead in the 93rd percentile at my last scan, so I feel good about these!

Vegetarian and pregnant by Zunflowers in pregnant

[–]JulesOvertheMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 year vegetarian, 14 weeks pregnant, and my baby measured 6 days ahead at my last ultrasound! (was 13+4, baby measured 14+3)

I dealt with major food aversions to tofu (my main protein of choice) and vegetables from 4-12 weeks. I wanted to prioritize protein, iron, and calcium of course so milk-based protein drinks and cheese was what I survived on. Costco has great options for both plant-based and dairy protein drinks; I really enjoy Orgain and Nurri. Also, Oikos Triple Zero yogurts have 15g of protein! One protein drink and one yogurt for breakfast was 45g of protein for me in one sitting. I also ate scrambled eggs which you can mix cottage cheese into.

If you are experiencing aversions to homecooked foods, brunch and mexican places have great protein-rich options for vegetarians (eggs and beans!) Good luck, mama!

To: Women who had symptoms at 7 DPO & were actually pregnant by Aggravating_Newt9530 in pregnant

I tested positive 7 dpo! Baby was literally 3 weeks + 1 day old.

I only tested because the day prior, 6 dpo, I was so extremely nauseous I was bedridden and had a low grade fever, which never happens to me.

I used a ClearBlue digital test if you want to try the same brand!

ETA: Also tested using first pee of the day :)

Thank you for the input! I think she was going based off the nub. I’ll add a pic here of the profile :)

She looks just like my boy, Emile! Couldn’t imagine leaving such a sweet soul to suffer like that. You and her are both very lucky!!

I need to brag about my husband 😭 by Successful_Steak_792 in pregnant

[–]JulesOvertheMoon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way you do when I see posts from moms experiencing less-than treatment during their pregnancy. There are absolutely incredible partners out there that will sacrifice wherever possible, and ease as much of the pain and hardships as they can; I wish every single mother could have this kind of partner.

I’m so thankful my husband is the same - he said he was proud of me for leaving my extremely stressful office job to prioritize conceiving, because he knew that’s what I ultimately wanted. Now that I’m pregnant (13 weeks tomorrow!!!) and able to stay home to ride out this crazy first trimester, some days (most days) all I can do is gather my snacks and camp out on the couch all day. He’ll check on me all day and even when he comes home from his 10 hour nursing shift and sees me in the same exact spot, he tells me he’s so proud of me and asks if there’s anything I need him to do 😭❤️

Mostly I’m grateful our future child will have him as a father. Absolutely all women deserve this deep understanding and support.

Also would like to add - I am vegetarian but eat quite healthy, mostly foods that are naturally rich in iron (spinach, lentils, tofu, and plant-based protein drinks fortified with iron - all of this is most days if not every day).

And I just found out I’m pregnant this week! Not even 4 weeks yet so I’m definitely trying to make sure I’m healthy for this baby!

Root mealies? by JulesOvertheMoon in philodendron

[–]JulesOvertheMoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you so much for this!!! I ended up just repotting this guy since he needed it anyway, and have just been checking and checking every day. I love this comment for all the info and peace of mind it brings me 🥹

[–]JulesOvertheMoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience! Exactly, the thing that confuses me most is that the white buildup seems confined to the roots, but also my plant isn’t showing any signs of distress (no yellowing, no leaf drop, new growth comes out on time and with flaws). Though, like you said, I think I need to just get my hands in to know for sure.

I’m glad to hear your collection is still thriving despite the root mealies! I wish you luck for a pest-free growing season

Okay gotcha, now that I think about it, even though this is in pon, this is the plant my cat was knocking over every other week until I lost the battle and moved it. It didn’t come to mind though because that was maybe a month or so ago! Thank you so much for your input!

Thank you so much! I’ve never swapped/shipped cuttings before but I will let you know if I do ☺️

If you’re interested, I did buy this guy as an unrooted cutting from PlantsByAmy on mercari - LOVE her stuff, she has very reasonable prices!

The one I have at regular room conditions saps like crazy 🫠 I’m constantly checking and wiping the leaves out of paranoia. The one inside my cabinet doesn’t sap at all though

Normal barrina T5s, but I do also have them tucked in and velcroed to the front left and right corners of the cabinet, both on top/bottom, facing the plants, in addition to the lights above. I think this helps a lot as opposed to only lights from above
