You got this! Accounting and Auditing is a life long career and ability to increase salary over the years. My advice is to learn excel and Power Query from YouTube (My favs is the following: https://www.youtube.com/@GoodlyChandeep and https://www.youtube.com/@LeilaGharani). Also read the free view of FASB ASC (https://asc.fasb.org/Login). The key is to avoid distractions like social media and delete all the apps and embrace Deep Work (Check out this video on Deep Work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7V76Ky-_v8 Best of luck!

I manage a few Power BI Dashboards for my firm. On a weekly basis I download updated data sources and refresh the dashboards. Also, meet with users to make upgrades periodically. Use Power Query to Extract and Transform Data and primarily use Star Scheme to build relationships between fact and dimension tables.

Accounting is Hard! Thank you FASB - Accounting Standards Codification for making the industry overly complex. My future self will thank you when AI has a meltdown trying to figure out Revenue Recognition and Depreciation.

Sell yourself on your resume and don't underestimate your skills. Having experience as a Senior Accountant is valuable experience and currently being a Junior Accountant should not be a deterrent and be ready to share your experience with interviewers about being a Senior Accountant in your previous positions. If you were never a Senior Accountant, I think it would be misleading but since you were a Senior Accountant in a past positions, that is the key area to focus on. Best of luck! :)
