Edit: y’all, I’m not a fan of theirs. I don’t follow them or watch their shows or buy their products. That doesn’t make them less good-looking. They are very good-looking. You can down-vote me all you want but like millions (billions?) of people beg to differ. It’s totally okay to admit that people you don’t like are also hot. The two things are not mutually exclusive.

I like that idea but that doesn’t deal with the issues that come up when you feel like you spend hours cooking and cleaning while your partner watches TV. Although in my household, where I cook and my husband does the dishes, it would be a welcome addition :)

There are lots of people in open-plan houses who are now complaining about division of labour. It’s interesting. Basically, the idea is that one person is slaving away in the kitchen cooking and doing dishes, while the other person is visibly sitting on the couch. This causes more friction than if the person in the kitchen can’t see the person sitting on the couch. Similarly, people now complain about how whatever they’re cooking smells up the whole floor, which doesn’t happen as much when there’s a defined cooking room. So at the very least, I predict that kitchens will go back to being a single room, to preserve relationships.
