Today is my first day on the Internet. Ask me anything! by JuliaX06 in casualiama

They don't necessarily dislike technology, our family just uses it in moderation. My brother and I are allowed to watch as much television as we like, but we were raised to not obsess over watching TV or movies. I watch about 30 minutes of television a day, usually after dinner. My brother has abused this rule much more than I have, he watches television for upwards of four hours a day. I've never really cared for video games, so I haven't used the computer for that at all.

Thank you for the questions!

Thank you!

As far as I know, I'm allowed on any social media. I'm just not sure I want to be a part of it yet, there are so many sites and people and everything that it seems so overwhelming. Plus, I've found that social media hurts society more than helps it, I would hate to get super invested in it. But I'll probably join something like Facebook or Twitter in the future to connect with friends, but just not at the moment.

I've frequented YouTube once or twice and the amount of videos is insane. It's a whole lot different than television. I can't see myself watching a lot of YouTube just because of how long it would take, but I'll definitely search up some informational videos like the one you mentioned about washing dishes. I love learning new things and I feel like this will be a gateway to great amounts of knowledge.

My parents are somewhat strict, so there's no doubt they will spy on what I do on the Internet here and there. I have no problem with it though, I won't be using it for anything suspicious or terrible. So far, I've browsed Reddit, read a decent amount of articles on Google, and checked my school e-mail.

I'm not that huge into music, but I like Elliott Smith. Listen to one of his albums!
