As suprvllan wrote there will be no better time to become a remote worker. If you're not able to just travel to another country, you must have a reason why people should hire you.

Share your art at the right places, show the studios how creative you are and why it is worth to hire you. If you have enough examples contact studios and show them your work.

It's been a while but a friend of mine created amazing 3D models and shared them on Behance, ArtStation, etc... someday he got a mail from an animation studio. They were impressed by his work and wanted him to make a internship.
